Clever and excellent characterisations elevate the familiar story of how Julia Roberts's life is thrown into turmoil when she discovers that husband Dennis Quaid has been cheating on her.
Director Lasse Hallstrom did a good job with this drama movie. He certainly seemed fascinat... read more -

Adorable movie. Lots of good acting. The relationship between Roberts' and Sedgwick's characters reminded me of my sister and I's.

I liked this mainly because of Julia Roberts and Kyra Sedgwick and their relationship.

I thought Sedgwick was pretty awesome as the sassy sister. But other than that, it was a so-so movie.

Dennis Quaid and Julia were a very funny couple. I enjoyed the chemistry between the two. But Kyra Sedgwick stole the scenes she were in.

I loved it. It was about a woman taking the time to learn what's best for her. So many times we're stuck on the ideals that we overlook the obvious (which is usually to our own hurt). Kudos Grace. You GO Girl! (although she was wrong for trying to poison that man. It's never... read more

I love the street scene the best! Caught the bastard. And I love Kyra Sedgewick in this. And the little girl in this movie is so adorable. LOVED this movie.
Critic Reviews
Everything about Something to Talk About feels off by a few beats.
In [Khouri's] zeal to portray a world full of male scum, she creates a morally mismatched, pandering scenario. Full Review
Something to Talk About never goes bad, though it does get corny in places, and it hits a couple of dull patches near the finish. Full Review
Something to Talk About is the kind of movie where you start out wondering how all of these people are related, and end up knowing all too well. Full Review
The ending is still pat, with lots of reasons for optimism, but Something is not as neatly -- or falsely -- resolved as most Hollywood films. Full Review
Something to Talk About is weary -- every ounce of energy and originality has long since been wrung out of this formula, and the 'twist' of having the leads already married doesn't do much to spice up... Full Review
Under [Hallstrom's] direction, Something To Talk About seems volatile and fresh, as well as tender and sentimental. Full Review
A few stray moments of wit mired amidst a low-key and sleep-inducing presentation.
Dull, dumb and listless.
