Angela (Pamela Springsteen), the murderous camp counselor of Sleepaway Camp 2, returns to the scene of her crimes in this no-frills installment. Assuming a camper's identity (after mowing her down wit... read more read more...h a Mack truck), Angela arrives at Camp Rolling Hills, which was purchased and renamed "New Horizons" after her last killing spree. Husband and wife entreprenurs Herman and Lily (Michael J. Pollard and Sandra Dorsey) have reopened it as an "experiment in sharing" to bring street-smart disadvantaged kids together with snobby rich brats. Splitting up into three groups of culturally mixed teens, they go off into the woods for a camping trip designed to break down barriers. Instead, Angela finds a myriad of reasons to off her fellow campers (thanks to their constant bad behavior), and gets the job done with axes, tent spikes, a lawnmower, and firecrackers up the nose. Even the presence of an off-duty police officer (Cliff Brand), who is familar with Angela's crimes, doesn't deter her from slaughtering everyone for the merest provocation. ~ Fred Beldin, Rovi

So the Sleepaway Camp series continues with the third installment: Teenage Wasteland. Angela's back in camp under an assumed identity to mutilate more terrible teenagers. I love that this series has "camp" in the title because that's exactly what it is. Angela is just as bad as F... read morereddy making bad puns after each kill. I haven't really cared for the series so far, but this is marginally more enjoyable than the rest. It's still campy as hell with weak death scenes but probably funnier than the first two.

The worst of the series, this camp movie is entirely routine and lame. It's not worth seeing, just watch the first two.

The third instalment in the "Sleepaway Camp" series is terrific fun, featuring another strong performance by Pamela Springsteen. It's a great shame that Springsteen decided to follow a career in photography as I would have welcomed further movies from this actress.

"Sleepaway Ca... read moremp III: Teenage Wasteland" is comic horror; the bloodshed is played for laughs but there are some effective scenes. While I'm a fan of the "Friday the 13th" films, I actually find the straight-to-video thrills of Angela more entertaining.

The always-fantastic Michael J. Pollard is suitably seedy as the counsellor with a penchant for young girls.

This is an entertaining straight-to-video horror flick that moves at a good pace and features strong performances from all involved. With some snappy one-liners, a dark sense of humour and some amusing scenes, this is a recommended genre film.

A couple of plot changes, but mostly the same as the second. watchable, but definitely missable.

The weakest of the Sleepaway camp series. All the humour is there, but the kill scenes have been edited badly. Show us the gore! The extra gore on the DVD isn't actually edited into the film, and must be accessed by a separate menu.

There was a macabre sense of humour to this that appealed to me for some reason and I really liked the Angela character played by Pamela Springsteen (yes, she is Bruce Springsteen's sister). She's quite pretty too.

Over the top gore but the very cheap effects and make-up are the scariest thing about this film.

The third instalment in the Sleepaway Camp series again features the brilliant-terrible Pamela Springsteen and retains the camp comedy horror from the second film rather than the genuine spookiness of the first film. It's all quite awful to be honest, but deliberately and ... read moreknowingly so (at one point Angela fishes out a hockey mask from the lake). What's surprising is the gore is much tamer even though some of the deaths are quite inventive (I personally love the hooked to a flag pole, hoisted up and then dropped-down-fast death). Angela's 'selection' process is more bizarre than ever and none of the other characters have half a brain cell between them - and Lily is quiet obviously a sandwich short of a picnic herself - making it a relief when they start to die. A largely pointless but fun way to spend 80 minutes.

Disappointing as it didn't live up to the standard of the previous films, still some cool deaths scenes but weren't great. Formulaic and cliche, it only served as an ending point for the original trilogy
  • October 29, 2008
Possibly the better of the first 3, as long as you don't count the last 5 minutes of the first. The reason for this is simply because it's just so damn fun. By now you know the killer, you like her, and everyone else is just, to put it one way, a douchebag. Therefore, you want ev... read moreeryone to die in elaborate ways, and that's what good ol' Angela does. What also makes this film great is that every character makes one fatal mistake in judgment and you can pinpoint exactly it is that a certain person does that sets Angela off and writes their death warrant (had to add that).
