Just when you thought you saw everything that the 80's slasher film had to offer, Sleepaway Camp shows you that you know nothing.

An unique slasher horror movie, the ending is such a surprise, I wont ruin it, don't worry. I love this movie, it's cool.

I'd certainly call it a cult classic, but not a fantastic one. It does have some hilarious moments and a tiny bit of gore, but overall just on the mediocre side.

Sleepaway Camp is a very weird horror film to watch. It's not the type of film that will be enjoyed by the majority of horror fans, however it's one of the few films that has a certain charm to it. The film is very cheesy, it's acting, dialogue and story are tongue in cheek. This... read more

I know this is considered to be a cult classic slasher film, but I'm at a loss here. That's 84 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

While it has its moments of being just plain weird, Sleepaway Camp is a highly predictable and lackluster slasher. It has nothing original being brought to the table, even the ending is just a joke. I guess if you're afraid of transsexuals you might find it creepy, I just thought... read more

So ridiculous it becomes funny! This really could be a great contender for the worse acted film ever. The ending made absolutely no sense at all, how does that explain why the person is killing everyone?
Despite all these things, you still feel the need to watch it through, ... read more

Not a particularly effective movie... [but] it is an exceptionally memorable one - one that lingers in the brain, disturbing and discomfiting. Full Review
classic stuff, the ending is the creepiest since "invasion of the body snatchers"
[ Sleepaway Camp] is...a gritty, sleazy Grade-Z rip-off of what Sean Cunningham and the gang more or less perfected over at Crystal Lake. Full Review
Still the finest Sleepaway Camp, if only because of its memorable final shot. Full Review
Evokes a period in time before Ritalin and common sense. Full Review
Cheap F13 knock-off. Good 'camp' value.
When Sleepaway Camp focuses on something other than the rapidly growing pile of corpses, the movie nearly grinds to a halt. Full Review
Sleepaway Camp belongs to a pool of slasher films known for their generic prolificacy; it must be noted that it is one of the first and best. Full Review
