Predictable, not that good acting, except for the physcopath. Quite creepy at times but nothing that you haven't seen before.

If I remember correctly this movie was thrilling, and I liked it. But I'd like to see it again, since I can't remember it that well.

Excellent thriller. Great cast and plot. A single girl places an ad in a newspaper for a lodger. The new lodger has a troubled past and looks for a new friend and identity. Watch out for the killer heels!

Jennifer Jason Lee was unbelievably good in this movie as a psychotic room mate, but that was about the best thing about it. I like the idea of a female psychotic. Bridget Fonda was lacking any real emotions and unlikable. I was actually rooting for Jennifer Jason Lee the entire ... read more

This is a film I've been wanting to see for quite some time. I remember hearing how creepy it was when I was younger, but never understanding what it was about exactly. Being a female in my 20's, oh now I know! Never rent a room out to someone you don't know! Very scary and it's ... read more

Despite excellent lead performances and numerous memorable scenes, this still feels like two different movies in one. Full Review
The film is smooth, entertaining and believably sophisticated. It has far more sound psychological underpinnings than other movies of its type. Full Review
Schroeder goes through the motions -- the movie is elegantly made -- but this synthetic Hollywood package panders shamelessly to the baser instincts.
The tension between its content and its trashy form is precisely the key to its vitality. If it were any less cheap, it wouldn't have the same edgy, gut-twisting jolt. Full Review
This is a story which, in other hands, could have simply been an all-female slasher movie, but Barbet Schroeder, who produced and directed it, has a mordant humor that pushes the material over the top... Full Review
You watch this thing coolly intrigued and sometimes amused, rather than terrified and taken in -- even when the stabbing raises its bloody, predictable hand. Full Review
A waste of the talented Jennifer Jason Leigh and director Schroder
Fluffy thriller, with moments of unintentional humour. Full Review
The climax is a long time coming, and you can't help feeling that the adaptation would work better as a play. Full Review
