this movie is fairly good, and with a couple that is a succes for itself, the plot was a little weak and it becames a little slow and boring until she runs away the it turns a little funny and entertaining
Critic Reviews
Gere and an almost ethereally radiant Roberts have never been better than in this sometimes herky-jerky breeze, which keeps improving as it goes.

There's no question the chemistry between them still works for a light romantic comedy. But an overcalculated, undernourished screenplay undermines much of the effort.
Virtually every step the Runaway narrative takes produces collisions with credulity! Full Review
Marshall is too much of a softie; he meanders around the story, milking it for both sentiment and comedy and often tripping over himself in the process. Full Review
It looks as if Julia and the horse were trying to get the hell away from the camera, and into a better movie.
A clumsy motion picture that strives so hard for the perfect romantic ending that it triggers a gag reflex along the way. Full Review
A runaway bore!
An awkward and gangly construct!
