Romeo Must Die is a mess of a martial arts film. This is not a film that will appeal to fans of the genre. The story didn't appeal to me whatsoever, and I felt it was boring, uninspired and not interesting. The cast here are terrible, I've never been a fan of Jet Li, and this fil... read more

An ultra-cool and stylish action-thriller with great visuals and stunning fight sequences. Jet Li packs plenty of punch and Aaliyah packs plenty of heart.

Romeo must die is a typical hip hop generation action flick, but it's a good one.
Tons of insane action, nice special effects, and a great unpredictable storyline. Had the storyline and turn out of the movie not of been so good - I probably would not of gave this movie as high... read more -

I liked it, has little lasting value however but initially it was what I thought it was going to be. Jet Li needs to stay in Chinese.

Not a bad effort from Li and Aaliyah. Didn't really care much about the plot. But then again this isn't a movie where you can get both action and good plot plus good performance from the actors. That's just asking for too much.

A good action film with plenty of fights, shoot-outs between rival gangs and those caught up in between.

Bog standard Hollywood vehicle for an asian action star that shows the usual lack of imagination and flair you'd expect from a studio unwilling to gamble on an actor unknown to the great unwashed. Jet Li is watchable as ever though.

You catch Mr. Li in bite-size chunks instead of the family-style helpings in his other work. Full Review
When there isn't a fight or a car chase going on, there's nothing worth watching to fill the time. Full Review
A plodding, play-it-safe rendition of The Family Feud.
Jet Li is, quite simply, the Michael Jordan of martial arts. Full Review
Enjoyable.
The movie fills too much of its downtime with silly mawkishness. Full Review
The reason to sit through [Romeo Must Die's] uninspired, formulaic moves ... is its half-dozen spectacular fight sequences.
[Li] shows no screen presence here.
Romeo Must Die scores when it concentrates on Li's fast footwork and flying fists.
