A classic animated comic-book Rock adventure! Great songs by Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Cheap Trick, Debbie Harry and others. It's a great fantasy science fiction setting with rockers, a demon, heavy ogre guards, a beautiful singer and her devoted band. It's a fun ride with mature them... read morees; not for kiddies. A treasure from the early 80's which CBC used to broadcast.

I see the appeal, just not a big of fan of this one. I do love Bakshi though.

It was equal parts good, and equal parts bad. The voice acting was atrocious, the animation was good. The heroes were annoying, the villain was totally awesome. The story was pretty weak, the music was fantastic (seriously, if there's a soundtrack album for this movie out there, ... read moreI want a copy). The references to other movies were uninspired, the musical sections were unlike anything I've seen before (in a good way). It was a movie I don't regret seeing, but aside from a couple bits here and there, it's not one I'd like to see again.

An alright Canadian made, poor man's Heavy Metal. Thts not to say that this isn't good, it's just not great, and throughout the whole thing I kind of wished I was watching Heaby Metal or a Ralph Bakshi flick. The story was pretty cheesy, and the music dates this movie pretty badl... read morey. The animation is pretty cool though. Especially the monster at the end. All in all worth a watch, but far from the best of this kind of genre. See the appeal for sure, and even liked this, but when all is said and done I was underwhelmed and probably won't be revisiting this movie anytime soon. Worth a watch though.

Eh, it was alright. It was an excuse for me to hear old rock music to old school hand-drawn animation.

I probably would have enjoyied it more if I liked the songs before hand, but not bad animation, a little boring at time, but then again that's just me.

I enjoyed this one well enough, though it never really grabbed me 100% because the animation seemed to be more important than the actual storyline, which made very little sense to me as far as why the Mok character wanted to destroy the world to...destroy the world? I dunno.

    Worth a peep.

This movie is gripping and with great characters that add with the comedy and the action for this movie.

classic animation--but what can you say about a cyberpunk rock opera with anthropomorphic characters and overtones of H.P. Lovecraft?

Outstanding animation and music make this one to catch. Its set years after WWIII where the only survivors mutated from Dogs, Cats and Rats, and Mok a ledgendary superstar wants to raise a daemon and take over the world, but he needs a special voice to sing the song to do it. Mea... read morenwhile you have a band lead by Omar and Angel (who we find out is the special voice Mok needs) who are trying to make it big. Mok finds out and offers the band...er..um..Angel a contract... this leads to Mok ever so closely to his evil plot. The music that is in here, is from the 80s, (Blondie, Cheap Trick, Iggy Pop, etc). This was based on "The Devil and Daniel Mouse" (which is included in the 2 Disc release of this movie on DVD)
