As the story unfolds, Rodney faces opposition from an evil corporation headed by Big Weld (Mel Brooks) and finds some unlikely allies in the form of a ragtag group of misfit robots called the Rusties and voiced by the likes of Drew Carey and Amanda Bynes. After finishing Robots I felt it was entirely reliant on its extremely impressive animation becuase the plot was far to thin and not particularly interesting. But what saved the film for me was the quite funny voice of robin williams who pretty much steals the show. Robots may not be the best that the people at Blue Sky have done, but its still an entertaining romp of a film for kids and adults alike. Sure the comedy is hit or miss, and some of the film has some slow and stupid moments, it still makes up for it with its characters, CG, and i... read morets voice acting. The cast for this film is hug, Ewan Mcgregor, Jim Broadbent, Amanda Bynes, Robin Williams, Harland Williams, Drew Carey, Greg Kinnear, the list goes on, I don't think I've ever seen an animated film with such a huge cast, and they all do fantastic jobs as these characters.

The animation in this robot adventure is a beauty to behold. There is so much detail, so many breath taking long shots, lovable characters and a lot of gags that work great. Add the usual amount of movie quotes and the somewhat expected plot points and you may not exactly get the... read more most surprising comedy ever made, but still one that leaves you with a broad smile on your face. A sweet lovable film with a good heart. It brings us into a world with funny people and amazing animation. Although the story is predictable, I enjoyed Robots.

There is a charming start to this movie that captures you from the off, admittedly, the start is better than the rest of the film, but don't let that put you off, despite it's predictability, Robots is an entertaining animation feature.

    Finally, I watched it!

Another goody for the family and youngsters who haven't grown up too fast for thier age, the ones that say "this is for kids".

The animation is visually stunning considering its release date and there is a fine message encouraged during ... read morethe film.

Robots is another kids movie I'm half-guilted into watching after my wife grabs it from the library because my 2 1/2 year-old daughter might like it. We start the movie, my kid gets bored within the first half hour then decides to trash the other end of the house and because I'm ... read morethe kind of person who has to watch a movie until the end, no matter how bad it may be, I'm on the shitlist because I'm paying slightly more attention to the movie than the kid. The worst part is the movies are never that great and are never worth it but I've got to say I got it under my belt. Robots was full of plenty of misfired jokes and cliches once it established the story that seemed to parallel real life. NONE of the celebrity voices stood out despite the few and far between surprisingly obscure sci-fi references. I didn't hate Robots and I didn't love it. It was kids movie purgatory...

There's no story here. It has a kind of an interesting look. It's sweet and it's just not funny at all. The jokes are very tired. Full Review
