The bad guy actually has the line "Cancel Christmas!!!" Anyway, still the best Robin Hood in over 50 years. ;)

A wonderful new version of Robin Hood. I especially loved Alan Rickman as the sheriff of Nottingham. This movie is exciting, action packed, and very entertaining.

A beautiful looking movie with lots of great action and explosions. It also has a star studded cast and extremely fun characters to accompany them. While Kevin Costner essentially plays himself in Robinhoodland, it's indeed better than him playing a copy of Erroll Flynn and havin... read more

The two best things in this movie: Alan Rickman's acting and Christian Slater. Yum. Kevin Costner was atrocious. I mean, was I supposed to believe for a second he was British? I didn't. AWFUL. Like *gag*. BUT remember those two good things? Redeeming. And a pretty bad ass battle ... read more

Nevermind the fact that Costner's acting is a little stiff and his accent is all but absent. This is a rousing and exciting adventure film. For a PG-13, it's also quite dark and violent. That may not be a big deal now, but it was rather shocking back in the day. I don't think/can... read more

I love Robin Hood, and I'm sorry, but the Disney fox had better acting than Kevin Costner.

Very entertaining, despite its many flaws. Kevin Costner wouldn't exactly be my first pick for the role of Robin Hood, but he does a surprisingly good job here. He's also backed up by a very colorful supporting cast. Alan Rickman may be a bit cartoonish as the Sheriff of Nottingh... read more

Massively overrated at the time, I always wanted Alan Rickman to kill Kevin Costner in the end.

The popularity of over-scored, "let's hug" bullshit like Robin Hood predicts the certainty of a one-term George H.W. presidency better than any number of Gallup polls. Full Review
The bones of the story are comfortingly familiar, the action is rollicking, and the metaphorical moustache-twirling of Alan Rickman's Sheriff of Nottingham is priceless. [Blu-ray] Full Review
...the film is so broadly characterized by melodramatics and overacting, it made ripe pickings for Mel Brooks two years later with his parody. Full Review
If not for Rickman and Freeman, this would be nigh unwatchable.
Poorly directed by reynolds, the film stars a passable Kevin Costner in the Erroll Flynn role, but it's the supporting cast that shines, especially Alan Rickman. Full Review
The spirit of adventure is alive and well in this retooling of the exploits of a legendary hero; it dazzles the senses. Full Review
It wasn't exactly an epic, but it was entertaining, and that's good enough.
Laughably bad. No threat to Errol Flynn.
