Karen (Gina Phillips) just can't seem to shake the feeling that she's not alone on her grandmother's crumbling estate, and when she takes notice of shanty-dwelling caretaker Pierce (Tom Sizemore) she soon finds that her suspicions were well founded. Though the arrival of her sister does much to calm Karen's jangled nerves, her memories of the past soon begin taking on an increasingly ominous tone. Now, trapped in a house that seems to feed off of their fears and forced to fight for their lives against a sadistic madman, Karen must face the horrors of the past if she has any hope of surviving to see the future. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This Movie isnt a Horror Movie its Thriller. The plot and interview give that impression, but sometimes I guess people have to watch the Movie without huge expections.
I pretty enjoyed the Movie. Agreed it was massed up at first, but when I began to figure out I enjoyed it over... read more all. Yes fear the Fear itself. Tom Sizemore I always suspect him in every movie. lol

    Not the best....

Very boring and slow...with some scary moments.

The story of this film was all over the place. They do tell you by the end what it is about. I guarantee when you find out, you will still have a confused look on your face. The cast wasn't too bad. Gina Philips seemed to have this weird scream in the film that made no sense ... read morethough. Oh look a mouse, SCREAM. Oh look a guy with an knife, small yell. Tom Sizemore on the overhand made a pretty cool creepy guy. At points he will really get on your nerves because you know he has a screw loose. The film does have its scary moments, but the confusing story line makes it a bit tough to really get scared. A few more jumping scenes or ghosts could of done the trick to at least make you love the movie for that, but it lacked a bit in that area too. So it had the potential, but failed.

I was so wanting to like this movie and I did like it for a while but you completely get lost towards the end and it felt like the writer couldn't decide how they wanted to end the movie so just took an easy way of making Karen look crazy and everything was in her head. That made... read more it suck for me.

It was okay, I didn't really like. It seemed really boring and wasn't scary. It did confuse me a bit.

Boring story with fair to weak acting. The sister had moment but this movie sucked. Story, acting and end were all uber lame!

Gina Philips and her husband inherit a spooky-looking farmhouse (along with its caretaker?) from her deceased grandmother. Philips' sister shows up and falls in love with the big, dumb caretaker because he teaches her how to chop wood. The "psycho" theme quickly becomes apparent ... read moreand then you're not sure if Philips is simply making all of this up in her mind. And what happens to her husband? They have two brief sex scenes and then he vanishes from the film. This movie is aggravating and painful to watch; allow it to remain inexistent to you because I'm sure it was before I decided to review it.

    Another movie gone bad......
From the very start to the very end you have this feeling as if you are standing outside in the rain, watching everyone in a house all cozy sitting around a fire, and you want to be let in so bad, well this movie never lets you in. It starts with Kari... read moren (played by Gina Philips from Dead & Breakfast and a host of TV Shows) waking up from a nightmare along side her fiance/boyfriend Jeff (played by Randall Batinkoff). Soon after, following her dead grandmothers wishes, the two take off to go clean and put the family estate where Karin grew up, on the market for sale. As soon as they make it to the house and start to ramble about the rooms, Karin is haunted by these nightmarish memories, and the two also meets the every so strange Pierce who looks after the house and horses. Right away Karin starts to see things and hear voices, after a few days Jeff leaves karin alone to finish up all the work, while he heads back home to his new job. A closet in one of the rooms plays a major part in the movie but you kind of really dont know what exactally it is. Things only get stranger and stranger, Pierce starts to just pop up out of no where and then all of a sudden becomes violent towards Karien.

Kat, Karien's sister comes to the house just out of the blue, and almost right away takes a liking to Pierce. He teachers her how to chop wood, pushes her in a swing and catches her when she almosts falls out. The two hit it off just great. Then I guess the climax of the movie comes, cause there is this big fight between Karin and Kit against Pierce, you know where the two helpless girls try and run from the big bad man. Well ok I guess I blinked and missed something cause Kits falls from the balcony on the second floor, Jeff comes back and wholia everything is like nothing happened, but something did happen you just dont know what happened. Im pretty sure none of this made sense cause it didnt make sense to me either. You never really know what happened, but you know something happened.

There's no special features or anything so you can't try to find an answer that way. You might read this and think I'm crazy, but this is exactly how the movie took place. After reading this review and you decide you still want to see this dvd anyway, just know you have been warned.
