one of ellen burstyn's very best performances and an interesting premise. Eva Le Gallienne does a beautiful job as the grandmother.

The movie succeeds thanks to excellent performance by Ellen Burstyn. I liked the religion vs. supernatural angle of the story, and how it's restrained from becoming too sentimental. Unfortunately it was a bit uneven at times.

I remember this being a good film for Burstyn. The religious elements were predictable. Not well thought out here. But the main character was believable Good job by all...except the writer.
