Preposterous thriller stars Jean-Claude Van Damme not once but twice, playing a clone of himself. The original Van Damme is a vicious serial killer terrorising Seattle. The second Van Damme is a clone of the killer, created with the hopes of being used to track down the original.... read more

Claude Van Damme plays two roles; a brutal serial killer, Edward "The Torch" Garrotte with a taste for young mothers - killing them before burning them and the replicant of the same killer (because clones clearly have psychic connections to their evil originators) created in a g... read more

What can I say, I'm a sucker for Ringo Lam movies. He does a good job on this one and the story is compelling. With this, Hard Target and In Hell I'm shocked I like as many Van Damme movies as I do.

Martial arts superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme fights himself in a spectacular action spectacle! What an intriguing concept! Well...not quite. Jean-Claude Van Damme in a dual role should be no surprise to film buffs. He has already played identical twins in Double Impact and Maximu... read more

Van Damme's first slip on the banana peel of his career. The downside start that would not stop until he hit rock bottom. Not his best work and it wasn't his fault. Give some of them drugs they were using to write this lame crap..."

This movie was an okay timewaster as far as movies for a lazy Sunday afternoon goes. Van Damme again plays a dual role (how many times has he done that now?) as both a serial killer as well as a cloned version that a cop hopes can somehow keep him a step ahead of his violent cou... read more

I fucking loved it. One of the most brilliant movies I've seen in a long while. Lots of fun, thrilling, nerve-wracking lol

Not bad of a movie. In fact it's very impressive compared some of Jean-Claude's recent work. However, Michael Rooker took this performance, and he was very good at it (as his usual Detective character). Though I wasn't thrill with how the sequencing turned out, nor did I really l... read more

(Jan. 2001 Director: Ringo Lam) A little different than what I consider the classic Jean-Clayde Vam Damme because his character is clairvoyant & being exploited by law enforcement in solving crimes (ones committed by his "double" of sorts? Clone? yes clone of a serial killer) ... read more
Critic Reviews
Slightly less awful than most of Van Damme's efforts.
Low budget and low thought exploration of promising idea
Replicant doesn't even come close to some of Van Damme's better flicks (Timecop and Sudden Death), but it's certainly an improvement over what he's been up to lately. Full Review
I was surprised to find "Replicant" wasn't too bad at all. Full Review
People looking for a movie that offers conversational debate on a controversial dilemma should look beyond this one-dimensional decoy. Full Review
The whole trying affair is irresistibly dopey. Kinetic, too. Full Review
