Cast: Amber Heard, Alexa Vega, Melonie Diaz, Douglas Smith, Katrina Begin, Leighton Meester, Charles Chen, Sunny Doench, Shahine Ezell, Lyndsy Fonseca, Max Hoffman

    Director: Jess Manafort

Summary: This dramedy follows a group of suburban teenagers during their last 24 hours of... read more high school. Sex, drugs, coming out, drinking and parental pressure are on the agenda as the 1999 grads face the big question, What next? Alexa Vega, Amber Heard, Leighton Meester, Melonie Diaz and Douglas Smith star in this film by writer-director Jess Manafort, an official selection of the 2007 Los Angeles Film Festival.

My Thoughts: "The film has every cliche character there can be. The cheerleader, the goody two-shoes, the gay kid, the gangster, the emo punk band, the rapper, eager to be cool freshmen, the jock, the dropout, the bad girl, the stoner, and the odd man out. I'm sure there are more but you get the point. The movie is kinda all over the place with its story-line, but the movie is funny at times and a fun movie to watch. You won't be bored."

I saw this at the LA Film Festival when it was called THE BEAUTIFUL ORDINARY and loved it. Reminded me of an updated DAZED AND CONFUSED. Hate the new title because it sounds too much like that film. It's VERY similar, not as funny, but shows off a promising new filmmaker.

"You could say this is an update version of Can't Hardly Wait, Dazed & Confused & American Graffiti. I liked this film, it was funny & entertaining. Remember The Daze is set in 1999 and it's about group of teenagers trying to stay out of boredom through their last day of school b... read morey having fun & partying such as drinking, smoking pot, two lesbians & two girls on shrooms. The movie is filled with some up and coming young stars & some recognizable names such as: The super sexy & beautiful Amber Heard, the very cute Alexa Vega, the super cute Lyndsy Fonseca (better known in her role in Kick-Ass) the very pretty & talented Melonie Diaz (who IMO, should & deserve bigger roles), the very funny Chris Marquette & the pretty Leighton Meester."

"Not only the entire cast were excellent with their roles but some new & fresh characters destined to be remembered: Katrina Begin is one of the two girls (the other Leighton Meester) on shroom, is flat-out hilarious in every scene she's in as Sylvia, Shahine Ezell is crazy, fun & very funny as Eddie, The very beautiful and talented up & coming actress Marnette Patterson is extremely hilarious, delivers some of the best one-liners in the movie as the sexy cheerleader Stacey (probably my fave character of the movie) & Chris Marquette is also absolutley hilarious weird & very high Mod character."

"Remember The Daze is a really fun movie also with a great ending, a movie most of you can relate to. Great movie."

I actually liked this movie, it was pretty typical but well written. The characters were really believable.

Just as the name says, the whole movie just feels like a "daze". I think Amber Heard should be in more movies, she is gorgeous.

Loved the Asian kid and his pictures and the whole montage-circle that starts and ends the film.

I think everyone wants the film to have a happy end... read moreing and a solid storyline, but I like it just how it is. There's no real answer or question that the film gives, and it's just a "snapshot" at the "realities" of high school or teenage years. There's a little bit of everything, and there's even the underrated stereotypes of the lonesome black sheep and gay culture. There's a little in there for everyone.

The film doesn't need to try at all to be a classic teenage film. It just is.

Without the hotness of Vega, Heard & Meester, this movie would be nothing...

I must have missed that part of high school where everyone is smoking weed and drinking 24/7...

It was okay.it didnt have a real story line just a bunch of teens getting drunk and doing drugs but it was worth th e rent.
