I'm not surprised by the lowish rating this film has gotten, but it's a hate it or love it type of film. I've not only seen Pattinson in the Twilight movies but also in Water For Elephants and I think he's a decent actor. That being said, this movie does have a certain clichà (C)... read more feel to it, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Tyler Hawkins relationship with his father and sister had a lot of depth and of course the ending for me was also heartfelt. I would say give this film a chance at least once.

An incredibly raw and emotional film built around the lives of characters who have suffered immensely. A hugely underrated film that really shows off the talents of the cast. I was skeptical as Pattinson has quite the teen fan base after Twilight but he did a great job. Unfortuna... read moretely I already knew what the ending was however I would never have guessed. A touching and beautiful film that really shows that you have to live each day as if it's the last and always tell the people you love how much they mean to you. I really can't believe the critics panned this.

I don't get why so many people don't like this movie. Well actually I understand it, but I think it's ridiculous because this is a romance that actually does really try something new with the formula. I think it's pretty much common knowledge now that the movie ends with 9/11. No... read morew most see this as a terrible and stupid way to end the movie, but I'd really have to disagree. It's not like the ending comes out of nowhere, it's practically forshadowed throughout the entire story that everyone needs to cherish every moment they have and not leave anything left unsaid. Even if that wasn't enough, the dates and eents taking place around the story make it more than plausible that the movie is goin to end the way it does. Honestly, it's just a really bold move and I think that it makes for an extremely lasting impression. The funny thing is, I can almost garuntee that most of the critical backlash for this movie is full of people who always complain about cliched romantic stories. Well this movie does change things up and really does defy expectations. This is such a well done story with great characters and a really great message. It captures extremely relistic moments in terms of the love story and just relationships in general. This does amount to more than just one aspect of life, it covers almost everything. Robert Pattinson does a great job and I really don't see why he's continuosly shut down as an actor. His perfomance in this was about as perfect as you can get and I really felt it was easy to relate to the character and understand what he was going through. Everyone else is really good for their part too. It's just a genuinely well made movie that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I think in the end it really gets its point across and I stand by the movie being as brave as it is.

A brooding depressive loser falls in "love" with his revenge fuck, the daughter of a police officer who arrested him.
This is a one-star film that gets a bonus star for a clever, unexpected ending, which, although good, lasts about three minutes too long.
I think the most infuria... read moreting thing about this film is the construction of the Ally character. She seems to bend to Tyler's every whim, carried away by a charm only she can see but remains a mystery to the audience. Her every action is so convenient that it gives the film, their courtship, their plot/genre-required argument and reconciliation a ham-handed contrived feel. Even her damage is so closely related to his that their destined meeting and her all-too-quick, all-too-willing assent to his lame pick-up line and even lamer request for a first kiss is worthy of nothing more than an eye-roll.
Robert Pattinson might have washed his hair for this role, which is an improvement from his Twilight work. Outside of the ever-so-adorable scenes with his sister, I can't be convinced that he's anything more than Edward Sullen - I mean Cullen. I want to say to him, "Bob - do you mind if I call you Bob? Actually I don't care. Bob: do a musical. No, not Nine. Do Oklahoma or Cabaret - something that requires smiling. Even fucking Hugh Jackman did Oklahoma. You must understand that I would never pay to see any of that shit, but at least it would prove you had some range."
Overall, the good ending is no reason to count down the minutes until this piece of shit is over.

Not just your average chick flick, even though most parts of the film make you believe this. The ending is definitely not predictable and has you in floods and floods of tears. Robert Pattison is undeniably beautiful and you can't help but love this film more because of him.

Tyler (Robert Pattinson) is a college student in New York City, and he has a very close relationship with his little sister and a not so close relationship with his successful workaholic father (Pierce Brosnan). Tyler cant stop... read more being angry with his father and others, including a cop he mouths off to,well his roommate suggests he gets back at the cop sgt Neil Craig (Chris Cooper) by dating his daughter Ally (Emilie de Ravin). Remember Me has decent potential because of it's likable characters and good chemistry. Pattinson also shows great ability as he takes on a role other than his usual vampire. The film has varying up and down emotions, but the tragic ending is a bit unnecessary.

To say this movie is bad is a massive understatement. I've seen train wreck romances before, ones with stock characters in stock scenes following by the numbers plots. However, I've never seen one that tries to pull what this movie pulls in its final minutes. SPOILER ALERT: On... read morece the main characters' love for each other has been declared, once the emotionally distant parents have reconnected with their children, and once the Robert Pattinson character has found his new love for life, the camera pans out the window he stares out of, and pulls all the way back to reveal he is in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, as the plane is about to crash into it.
This is a major problem. Screenwriters are taught this basic rule in school never to introduce an entirely new concept in the third act, when the conflict needs to be resolved and equilibrium re-established. Remember Me's script breaks this rule by using a tragic event to enforce its message, that life must be lived to its fullest. Why? Because we don't know when we will be robbed of it. Fuck off filmmakers. A movie should never have to pull the rug on its audience like this to make sure they understand its universal message. Instead, this closing scene undermines everything that comes before it.
I read an article about a woman having lunch with her husband in an outdoor coffee shop. Somehow, a piece of the above building broke off, and fell on top of her, crushing her to death. This it tragic. This is horrible. But if a movie would be made of this couple's life, say, they met, fell in love, went through hardships, reconciled, and found solace in each other. Then in the last scene, this were to happen to the woman, how would you the audience feel?
Maybe I wouldn't hate the movie so much if every character wasn't a pure cliche lifted from other romances and family dramas, or if every dramatic scene wasn't so painfully contrived in ways only a screenplay could do. But with this new tacked on ending - whether or not it was intended from the beginning is irrelevant, because it comes across as very tacked on - the film can have more social and historical relevance than all the other formulaic teen romances that came out this year.

The ending made the whole movie worth watching.
