A red-eye flight from LAX to Nashville takes a terrifying turn of events when the passengers become infected with a highly contagious virus, and find themselves quarantined in an airport following an ... read more read more...emergency landing. Picking up immediately after the events depicted in Quarantine, this relentlessly tense sequel finds the passengers of Flight 318 ascending into the clouds as reports of a sequestered L.A. apartment building begin filtering though the nightly news. Shortly thereafter, the passengers on the flight begin to exhibit disturbing rabies-like symptoms, forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing at an isolated terminal in a large metropolitan airport. As the group hastily departs the plane, terrified flight attendant Jenny (Mercedes Masohn) bravely attempts to lead them to safety. But when a squad of police officers and emergency workers arrive on the scene accompanied by the CDC, the passengers' relief turns to horror as they realize they have been quarantined, with no hope of escape. Now, their only chance of living through this nightmare without getting infected by the virus or shot down while fleeing rests in the hands of Jenny and resourceful kindergarten teacher Henry (Josh Cooke), who try to remain calm long enough to formulate a viable escape plan. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A fairly poor follow up, although it does have a slight link to the first story. On the same night as the first film, a flight out of L.A. becomes contaminated with the virus. This could have been better with a bigger budget and set inside the airport. However the group from the ... read moreflight try to survive by holding out in the baggage section by the runway. Overall it wasn't bad but compared to the first film and the two Rec films it was a disappointment.

As sequels to remakes go...this was pretty impressive. Lot's of good tension, scares and gore.

Some (mostly) solid acting from the (mostly) "no name" cast.

Quarantine 2: Terminal is definitely not as good as the first movie. It's not a bad movie, but it just doesn't live up to expectations. The major issue is that it's not close to as frightening as the original Quarantine. I might have jumped once or twice during the movie, max. So... read more, don't go into this expecting a lot of thrills and chills. The part of the film that is most likely to make you wince actually involves a needle, which might be great for a Saw movie, but not exactly what I was hoping for from this.

Along with less scares, we get less gore and less "zombie" action. The characters aren't very interesting for the most part, either, though there are a couple of pretty sexy ladies for the guys who don't mind something a little extra on-screen to help keep their attention.

The filmmakers decided to go on their own direction, and the story is a complete departure from what happened in the continuation of the REC series (which Quarantine was originally based on). Nothing wrong with that, but the sequel suffers without a strong story framework to base it on. Quarantine 2 is just not that good. My interest in it dwindled the further it went along, until I was just ready for it to be over. Which doesn't exactly make me excited that the ending sets up perfectly for a third entry in the series.

Nope the unnecessary sequel to a remake of a far superior film does nothing for me either. A too low budget effort that doesn't bring anything new to the table except for some backstory as to who owned the lab in the first film and abandoning the cinéma vérité style. Stick with t... read morehe [REC] movies instead.

Fun, Scary, Bloody, and Entertaining, all at once. Loved the setting, great idea for a virus-spreading zombie film. Just as good as the first!

They sound like boar-cats, the infected sound like boar-cats. I could not get that out of my head, the boar-cat sound the infected people make is ridiculous. Did this movie grab my attention? No, yet it had moments of hilarity that seemed out of place that I admire, the blow job ... read moreon the plane out of nowhere. The evil cat and mouse. George and his heroic nature, the little boy... I like the ending, it is very bittersweet and true to the situation at hand. It is interesting to note that the portrayal of the CDC is a lot like the portrayal of the government scientists in The Blob, seen as trigger happy control by any means necessary kind of scientists. Although that is not uncommon in zombie-like movies. I suppose I like seeing the good side of the government and the bad side (ex. 28 Weeks Later in which the government attempts a controlled and friendly move for all the people back into England then everything goes to hell and everyone must die die die). This film gave a negative portrayal to the CDC and a negative view towards the cause which I liked because it wasn't natural by any means, there are a lot of antagonists in this movie (laughs uneasily).

Decent sequel of a so so remake. Nice plot, some nice gore for gorehaunts and zombie/infected movie fans and for those looking for scary fun and thrills look else where.

It's blah. Thought the plane would be nice but movie is cheaply made. Def can't call this a REC remake unlike the first quarantine

In 2008 American filmmakers decided to remake the spanish horror classic REC. They said it was original but the film was a shot for shot copy of REC. Now Quarantine 2 is a straight to DVD horror flick that surprisingly is NOT a copy of REC 2. It's completely original, except f... read moreor the fact it's a sequel.
At first, it would seem it's one of those sequels that has NOTHING to do with the original (remember Blaire Witch 2?). However, this film ties in quite nicely with the first Quarantine. It's stand on it's own because it removes the found footage gimmick and relies solely on typical horror movie styles. To make things even better, this film was very low budget, so the director (John Pogue) relies on the sounds and darkness to apply the horror rather than jump scares and gore, which this film actually pulls off some quite nicely. There is a jump scare that no one will ever see coming, even if I told you about it right now. The change in scenery also, makes this film more action pack. We move from an airport, to a plane, back to a terminal (hence the name). It makes the film move a little bit quicker.
The characters are nothing special in this film. They're acting isn't terrible, but it's above normal, and the character development actually works pretty well. Each character has one distinct characteristic that makes he/she different from others...even if that throws them into a horror movie cliche.
Overall, Quarantine 2 is a fast paced, horrorfest that never releases it's grip on you. It may not be perfect, but Terminal is a sequel that stands on it's own, and in my opinion, out does the original.

"Quarantine 2: Terminal" is a terrible follow-up to its imaginative and bone-chilling predecessor. This is great evidence that less is more. Abandoning the intrigue of the first film where seeing is NOT believing, this installment of the Quarantine series shows all; unfortunate... read morely, these images are not nearly as terrifying as the images created by our imaginations during the original and the end result is a lot of blood and a minimal amount of terror. Even more disappointing is the extensive use of "thermal vision." You can tell that this is the point where they decided to stop investing money into the film and went with some of the poorest CGI I've seen in a long time. The use of nightvision in the first film strongly related to the storyline and was seemlessly incorporated into this plot whereas the thermal vision is just a gag that tries to provide variation but just makes the film awful. You can tell that the acting is going to be bad from the first 2 minutes and this large cast hinders the ability of the film to scare, merely providing more meaningless personalities to be turned into rabid zombies. I am upset that they tried to connect this film to the first through that brief newsfeed and even more upset that this film bears the same title. The first "Quarantine" is a terrifying piece of art while this abhorrant sequel's sparse scares beg for a label of mediocrity.

Lacking a budget and stars, the filmmaker reworks the viral viciousness into a modest but highly entertaining follow-up, dropping tedious found footage elements to refresh the concept. Full Review
