Pumpkin, a mix of drama, comedy and romance flaw with the not so good screenplay written by Adam Broder. Is really sad see that Pumpkin is not a fresh movie.

If you're understanding, it's not upsetting, but otherwise you may think of it as obscene. Personally, I loved it.

A cute idea, and Christina Ricci was definitely a good choice to put in the main role, but this movie was too freaking long for such stilted dialogue. I felt like I was in a Wes Anderson movie without the talent. And usually I am the one supporting this kind of teen satire. Smash... read more

Hmmmm....Christina Ricci for no reason falls in love with a retarded kid. One second she's scared to look at him, the next she's his best friend. Kinda creepy movie that tries really hard to have some kind of important message about love, but comes off as really cheesy.

These are the reasons why I think that this is the worst movie ever made.

I love this movie. It's kitch and feels wrong. But at the same time you really want this odd couple to defy everyone. Felt like a John Waters film at moments.

The movie started out strong, with a bold concept and interesting progression. however, it lost appeal in later scenes which felt forced, unrealistic, and inconsistent with the theme. overall, it was kinda sweet.
Critic Reviews
By presenting an impossible romance in an impossible world, Pumpkin dares us to say why either is impossible -- which forces us to confront what's possible and what we might do to make it so. Full Review
Though Pumpkin extends its jaundiced joke too far, it's almost worth it for Ricci's final scene, which tells us everything we need to know about what will become of her. Full Review
Weird. Rewarding.
Would be considered an interesting failure, only it isn't all that interesting. Full Review
If you believe any of this, I can make you a real deal on leftover Enron stock that will double in value a week from Friday.
[T]hose same extremes prevent us from taking its message seriously, and the Stepford Wives mentality doesn't work in a modern context. Full Review
Instead of putting an easy-to-swallow candy coating on a touchy subject, Pumpkin searches for beauty in ugliness and quality in imperfection. Full Review
For all its many flaws, Pumpkin has some worthwhile ideas and funny moments, and its whacked-out heart is in the right place. Full Review
Although I often found it hysterically funny, I was never quite sure if I was laughing at it or with it.
