Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the adoption agency, along comes this sequel to the 1990 comedy hit Problem Child. Ben Healy (John Ritter) and his sociopathically unruly son Junior (Mi... read more read more...chael Oliver) move out of town after Ben and his wife split up. Ben discovers that his new city is overrun with divorced women looking for husbands, and Lawanda Dumore (Laraine Newman) soon sets her predatory sights on Ben. However, Lawanda doesn't care for Junior (not difficult to understand) and intends to ship him off to boarding school as soon as she and Ben tie the knot. Junior gets wind of her plans and does all in his power to scuttle them. Meanwhile, Junior finds a new playmate -- Trixie (Ivyann Schwan), a girl even more obnoxious than himself, who is the daughter of Annie (Amy Yasbeck), the school's nurse, who also has her eye on Ben. Oddly enough, Amy Yasbeck also appeared in the original Problem Child as Flo, the wife that Ben divorced in this picture. Yasbeck and Ritter married in real life in 1999. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Not as good as the first movie, but still pretty funny.

I often forget there was a sequel if that tells you anything.

I remember this from my childhood. I don't know if I watched it now if I would think it was any good but I remember liking the adventure of these rotten kids who sort of learned their lesson at the end.

I don?t know why I watched the second film when I hated the first so much? Stupid me! This film nearly made me throw up!

Movies with obnoxious children are bad enough. Now try one with an obnoxious child who believes acting means SPEAKING YOUR LINES AS LOUD AS YOU CAN!!!!
  • January 29, 2007
sort of rediculous and nowhere near as good as the first

More comedy and better than the original. I like the food fight scene.
  • April 14, 2011
I thought it was funny and just as good as the first one!

These movies are great, when their is absoultly nothing lweft in your life to do that particular day. Being a parent of two i dont need to see a movie about bad children, I use the movies to escape from that, lol

Worse than the first, definetely. Just annoying. Ever since Flo was reported missing, Ben has been looking for a new wife. Everybody in the neighborhood likes him, but learn about Junior. Speaking of Junior, he has having a rough time at school with a girl just like him, although... read more they surprisingly don't like each other. He's also having a rough time at home, where Ben's dad returns to bunk with Junior and a rich snob comes to woo Ben.
....Very painful. Once again, Junior is the most annoying kid I have ever seen. His constant prank-pulling way of doing pranks over and over and over gets tiring. Even John Ritter wasn't good in this. And oh, yes- there's a disturbing scene where kids barf on everything and everybody. It looks like a fountain of puke. 'Nuff said.

I swear this film plays like a sick joke from the screenwriters, who seem to be throwing anything at director Brian Levant, expecting to be reprimanded or refused. Full Review
