I saw this movie on TV a long time ago, but I recall not liking it. It wasn't romantic or erotic or funny or anything. I didn't care for it.

A star just for Sylvia Kristel, because the acting and script are awful. The blackmail sub-plot is just stupid beyond belief.

An incerdibly generic and boring 80's sex comedy. Not funny at all, extremely boring and predictable. The movie does deliver in the nudity department however for whatever that is worth to you. Not very good at all.

Though today this movie would be controversial, in this day and age, what isn't controversial? Private Lessons is not a bad comedy film at all, an interesting film with some great cast members. A classic 1981 film that is a classic.
Critic Reviews

Teen Oriented Voyeurism rules as the protagonist (Brown) stalks his prey (and her stand-in) armed with cameras, binoculars, and an overtly Oedipal mix of fear and desire. Full Review
It won't make you laugh, but it will make you feel unclean.
Rent it for nostalgia value, if you must, but be prepared for a sex comedy with very little sexiness and a complete dearth of comedy. Full Review
