Fantastic movie!! This is an absolute favorite of mine. After the pivotal peak and rise of HBO's original 'Resurrection Blvd," here is a film with similar interests and highlights of a family in boxing. The movie reflects around the Ortega family who lives near the border of Ariz... read more

good movie, showed how hard it is to work for something that you really want. And the price for it, is it worth it?
Critic Reviews
Very obvious, very earnest and a little overwrought.
It's a film that avoids many of the genre cliches but, in so doing, loses the highs and lows that make us connect with these stories.
Among boxing movies, Raging Bull remains the all-time champ at breaking the mold. But Price of Glory fills it well. Full Review
It creates a rooting interest, and most importantly, it has the force of Smits' intensity, which cannot be discounted. Full Review
Price of Glory wins a few rounds, but, unlike The Set Up, The Hurricane or Raging Bull, it loses the fight.
Price of Glory is an earnest but flatfooted saga. Full Review
What's peculiar is that the film doesn't build toward anything because even as the boxing careers flourish, the character of Arturo drags everything down. Full Review
The specificity of Glory's setting and the ethnicity of its characters enrich the story without moving it one iota away from a mainstream frame of reference. Full Review
A by -the- numbers scenario that doesn't take its characters and fighters to that higher level. Full Review
