Arbie (Jason Yachanin) is a nostalgic romantic with little luck in romance and a bad case of puppy love. When Arbie's high-school sweetheart, Wendy (Kate Graham), returns home after her first year of college, the lovelorn teen attempts to win the object of his affections back by taking her to the site of their first romantic encounter. Unfortunately for Arbie, the ancient Tromahawk Tribe Indian burial grounds have been bulldozed to make way for an American Chicken Bunker restaurant, and Wendy has turned into a left-wing lesbian with a penchant for protesting. Subsequently beaten to a pulp by Wendy's rough-and-tumble girlfriend, Micki (Allyson Sereboff), and in desperate need of a steady job, disgruntled Arbie applies at the Chicken Bunker despite the fact that Wendy and Micki have launched a tireless campaign against the restaurant. But something supernatural is stirring in this poultry paradise; the spirits of the dead are not pleased that their eternal slumber has been interrupted. As the employees of the American Chicken Bunker begin dying a series of increasingly gruesome deaths, restaurant owner General Lee Roy (Robin L. Watkins) does his best to cover up the scandal and keep his customers in the dark. Meanwhile, the restless demons of the Tromahawk tribe vow to take revenge on the fast-food-loving masses by infecting every last piece of genetically modified poultry that is served at the Chicken Bunker. Perhaps if Arbie can prevent their curse from reaching beyond the drive-through window, he can save the world from a fate worse than trans fat and finally win back the girl of his dreams. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I have to say one thing, THIS IS THE MOST MESSED UP FILM I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Troma is known for doing films like this, but this is there most screwed up film, the gore is off the wall, and is so gross that its almost vomit inducing, and some of it is played for come... read moredy, but its not it's freaking gross. Now don't get me wrong there are several moments that made me laugh quite a bit, but thats just when they start killing the zombie chicken people, but the rest is just gross out nudity drive in trash. If you are in the mood for a grossout disgusting film for halloween, you may check this out, but I doubt you'll like it.

Very surprisingly I really enjoyed this one! I'm not a big lover of Troma or musicals for that matter but I loved the outrageously offensive tone the film had. Certainly not for the politically correct brigade - it's racist, homophobic, islamophobic, sexist - pretty much everyone... read more ends up on the end of an offensive joke. And of course the OTT disgusting gore effects played a part in my enjoyment of the film, really quite gross stuff on offerbut all with a comical edge to it. And the songs are really quite funny too. Well done Mr. Kaufman, it's my favourite Troma film by far!

True Troma down to a science. Funny, lude, graphic, tasteless and outlandish. And about 20 minutes too long. And a musical! If you've ever liked a Troma film, this is probably worth checking out.

Holy crap. Super nasty, vile, I found myself saying "that's the most effed up thing i've ever seen" several times during this movie. I'd say the first 2/3rds is just dumb, but I gotta give them props for the zombie chicken stuff at the end where they eat all the customers. If n... read moreothing else just for creativity and decent gore effects and costumes.

I dont know what is worst my test in Movies or this Movie.

I'll start of by admitting that I'm not a big Troma fan, though I do feel a certain nostalgic fondness for 'Mothers Day' and ''The Toxic Avenger'. And I actually found 'Vegas In Space' (mildly) ammusing. But the one feeling that is constant for me when watching a Troma film, is... read more the nagging thought: "how in the hell did this get made"?

This one was another "recomendation / loaner" from a co-worker (guess I'll never learn). And as if the normal Troma film wasn't hard enough to sit through...this one had the added challenge of attempting to be a "musical". Sadly they didn't spend any more time writing the songs then they do writing the scripts, so the five minute long musical numbers were beyond mind numbingly bad.

There are some flashes of real cleverness and (no pun intended) biting satire...but they are so brief and rare that they are almost completely overshadowed by all of the horrible dialog, ridiculous Troma gore, nudity and potty humor.

If you enjoy Troma films then you will probably like this. For everyone else, your time might be better spent doing your laundry or getting a root canal.

If you love Troma, then you will no doubt be wanting to see Lloyd Kaufman's latest opus POULTRYGEIST: NIGHT OF THE CHICKEN DEAD. It is one of the most entertaining films that i've had the pleasure to sit through. You want OTT, then this film brings it, nearly outdoing itself, yet... read more still filled with enough ideas, action and humour that can fill a 100 films! The simple plot is, the American chicken bunker fast food chain has built a new restaurant over an ancient Indian burial ground, yet unbeknowist to them, the Indian spirits are restless and seeking revenge, leading to the body's of the dead chickens coming back to life and causing havoc all around, while at the same time our hero, Arbie, has to fend off the mutant chicken zombies, while trying to win back his former girlfriend, Wendy, who has become a 'left wing lipstick lesbian!' Nothing is sacred in Tromaville and everything is under attack, from right wing bigots, left wing protesters, jihad obsessed suicide bombers, Indians, the handicapped, the American public in general, corporate culture and political correctness all backed by buckets of bloody over the top gore and musical numbers!! If you have a chance to see this then do so, as you will not regret seeing it, though be warned its troma, so leave your sense of seriousness at the door!!

A zombie chicken, horror, comedy, musical. From those pleasant folks at Troma. Troma certainly know what their fans want. Offensive and irreverent humour, sickeningly violent gore and a cast that are obviously having a lot of fun. Poultrygeist is certainly an enjoyable addition t... read moreo Kaufman's catalogue, with a gay Mexican chicken sandwich, penis impalings and eggs growing out of breasts. It's a bizarre and often disturbing trip and one where the consumption of food should be avoided. The effects are all practical, which makes them twice as disgusting. The songs are catchy, if not beautifully written.

Typically offensive, vile and stupid...but with style!
Troma fans will love it (outrageous gore, ample nudity, hot lesbian action, musical numbers) but everyone else will hate it and I mean punch-you-in-the-face hate it.

    7.4/10

I was waiting for a movie like this to come along. "Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead" is a miracle, if miracles come in the form of sleazy, violent exploitation horror-musicals. It is a satire of so many things; but the film's main focus and target is ... read morethe fast-food industry. The satire is tasteless, potentially offensive, disgusting, violent, and yes, also quite funny. I tried to enjoy the film as much as I could; and with myself not being the biggest fan of exploitation films (or films directed by Troma's leading man, Lloyd Kaufman), it's perhaps more brave than I thought to like a movie like this one.

But it's good at what it does; and it will deliver to anyone looking for a wild, shamelessly funny ride. I guess the film needs a certain audience to appreciate it, and Kaufman is essentially playing with fire when he crafts his film with that specific kind of appeal, but I admire his efforts. And I also admire "Poultrygeist", for some odd, unexplainable reason. It's the kind of movie that you're almost embarrassed to say you enjoyed, but it's not possible for a guy like me to lie.

"Poultrygeist" is a tale of love, passion, and mutant chicken-eggs that create poultry-zombies out of the living human beings of this earth. When a fast-food restraint specializing in fried chicken opens up to much protesters (who pretty much stand outside of the building for more than the first half of the film), things go wrong almost immediately. Apparently, and I'm spoiling a major twist here, the Native Americans are striking back against the, well, Americans; and all because of a sinister past-plot involving some hilarious Nazi/Holocaust symbolism and...chickens.

So there are characters; two high school sweethearts, an elderly and wiser version of the male partner, and the staff of the joint. The male gets a job there because his girl is outside with all the other protesters (against the slaughter of poultry). However, it all goes to waste when the chicken turns out to be the infected result of the "revenge", and it turns out that all who eat it start dying in ridiculously violent ways.

I didn't care about the plot of "Poultrygeist". I didn't care about the characters either. What I cared about was what Kaufman was trying to do with his movie, and I eventually accepted the flick for what it was. "Poultrygeist" is pure exploitation. It is filthy, rotten, vile, sometimes offensively unfunny, but for the most part, it's tasteless fun. But that's all dependent on what you think is "fun".

The death scenes are hilarious and well-staged. There is one scene where a dangerously obese man eats one of the infected chicken eggs, has to run to the nearest restroom, and takes an absurdly obnoxious and loud dump. He dies, and then a thinner version of himself comes out of his prison-like-belly. If you're ready for content like this, then you're ready for "Poultrygeist".

Another thing I liked was the many song-and-dance sequences throughout the film. It creates a half-musical out of the movie, which is always nice, especially when the songs are campy and, best of all, fun. It takes craft to make a movie as stupid as this good; but Kaufman did it. I don't recommend "Poultrygeist" to those who can't find humor in violence or the exploitation of ANYTHING; but sometimes we all need juvenile, immature, childish fun. And for me, "Poultrygeist" fit the bill just right.
