I am not entirely sure how I feel about this one. I bought it knowing it had quite a low rating, but it was very cheap, and i like Sarah Michelle Gellar, so I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Story is a little strange. SMG plays Jess, who is married to Ryan, (Mich... read moreael Landes). They are a nice couple, though you get the impression Jess has a few commitment issues, including whether or not to start a family (which Ryan wants). Ryan's brother, Roman, (Lee Pace), has recently moved in with them after a spell in prison. It is clear that he is the bad egg of the family, and Jess is understandably nervous around him. This was the part of the film I liked the least . I found Lee Pace's gruff portrayal of Roman really unconvincing, while Sarah Michelle Gellar didn't seem to have a lot to work with on her character.
After hearing Jess complain to Ryan about him, Roman storms off in his car and there is a freak accident between the two brothers which really requires you to suspend your disbelief. Both wind up in a coma, but only Roman wakes up. Here's the twist.... when he does wake up, it seems that somehow Ryan has returned to Jess through Roman's body. The movie picks up from here and I liked Lee Pace considerably more as he played "Ryan".
I won't spoil it by revealing any more of the plot, but from this point on, I found this an interesting and suspenseful film and the actors seem to come into their own in the roles. I would have rated it higher and recommended it if it wasn't for the ending, which I really felt let the whole movie down and made the whole thing seem stupid.
Overall, a flawed, but decent thriller which is let down by a crappy ending.

A captivating movie with bits of suspense and drama. Jess is happily married to Ryan, and is content within her overall work. He continually surprises her at every turn, and she acknowledges his efforts. Deciding to hold off having a family for a while, Jess is also fearful of... read more his brother Roman. Roman temporarily stays with the couple, but his behavior begins to scare Jess even more. She sets Ryan with an ultimatum, and abruptly a car accident occurs. Roman and Ryan are both involved in a head-on collision that causes them to enter a coma. Jess is devastated, and realizes the consequences of putting life on hold. Roman awakes, and claims he is Ryan. This leads Jess into a flurry of doubt and treachery that will change her life forever.
Great cast- Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lee Pace, Michael Landes, Chelah Horsdal, Tuva Novotny, Dhirendra, and William B. Davis. Worthy!

    --Spoilerish review--

This was OK. Not completely what I was expecting though. The relationship between Jess and Roman wasn't really covered, so I didn't get why he was obsessed with her...so that basically makes the plot moot.

But if you put aside the fact that the movie wa... read mores almost pointless, it wasn't THAT bad. It kept me watching til the end and SMG is getting better with age...except her fake crying, god it's horrible...

It wasn't scary, but it was suspenseful at times. SMG actually did a decent job. It was an ok movie overall.

The only reason for this movie is to watch Lee Pace strut his stuff. Gellar really brings this movie down with her weak acting and the plot twist wasn't very surprising.

At the end, I was kinda like "so what was the whole point of that movie?" but as the movie wasn't very predictable so kudos for that. Plus, Sarah Michelle Gellar is amazing.

This movie's plot is like a rip-off of "Birth". It's not bad though. If you haven't seen "Birth" you might enjoy it.

A stillborn chiller and an awfully silly picture, boasting screamingly inept performances and preoccupied direction that spends more time seeking out the perfect camera angle than tightening the story... Full Review
