Classic remake that comes out pretty decent. I liked the original more but this was not a bad rent.

Saw it again! Good Movie. Very fun and thrilling movie meant to be watch and enjoyed. Very beautiful woman in this film too.
It is New Year's Eve, and over 2,000 passengers & crew are ringing in the New Year aboard the huge cruise ship 'Poseidon' on the open sea in the ... read more -

Remake of The superb disaster film The Poseidon Adventure is a horrible mess of a film. I really think that Wolfgang Peterson has made the worst film of his career with this film, and as far as an action film is concerned, there's absolutely nothing great about it. All the charac... read more

A terrible remake of one of the greatest disaster films ever to be made. Not worth watching, unless you love seeing an awful vocal performance by Fergie (as usual) and the intended-to-be-ironically-cast Richard Dreyfuss (who is much older and does a dumb performance in compariso... read more

Yes, this film had it's flaws. Yes, this film differed much from the original. Yes, the character development was paper thin. But I can't help to enjoy it, it is a sloppy, messy piece of fun.

First of all, this is the reason why I sometimes don't care what other people say about a movie. Reviews will help you to know whether it is good or not. But only you know your taste. This movie got poor ratings but I'm thankful that I've watched this.
I haven't seen the origina... read more -

A disaster of a disaster movie. Poseidon is an unwarranted action movie that feels like an updated version of Titanic. While it has some decent acting, it is irrelevant when a plot was as bat as this. Next to Godzilla, this is Emmerich's worst film. It doesn't have the fun of his... read more

As a humanist, I applaud the respect for life, but I miss the campy fun. The movie is, in all senses, a big downer. Full Review
... a waterlogged, unnecessary re-imagining of the cheesy blockbuster from the Seventies heyday of disaster films. Full Review
Throughout the movie, Petersen has a dynamic feel for the rush and heave of the deluge, the pent-up energy, the sheer heft and momentum.
There's never any doubt that some of these uninteresting people will make the passage through hell to the hull, it's only a question of which ones. And whether we'll still be there to see whom. Full Review
Where the first film had to rely on stunt work and character conflicts, the remake is action on top of unbelievable action. Full Review
Petersen definitely brings a nautical pedigree to the gig -- the man knows from water. He's also wise enough to retain only the essentials from the '72 original, just the title ship and the rogue wave... Full Review
Poseidon's not so purely realized or ultra-intense that it can get by without revving its emotional engines, and its problems start early.
While the ship's survivors are driven to live, Poseidon is never character-driven enough to make us care. Full Review
Poseidon isn't cute, funny, warm, nice, inspirational or uplifting. It's about the incredible labor of survival in a world turned totally sociopathic in an instant. Full Review
