Love it or loathe it (and there are a goodly number of people on either side), Porky's was one of the most successful comedies of its day, spawning two direct sequels and inspiring an incalculable num... read more read more...ber of lowbrow teen comedies, most recently including American Pie (1999). Pee Wee (Dan Monahan), Billy (Mark Herrier), Tommy (Wyatt Knight), and Mickey (Roger Wilson) are four painfully horny high school kids growing up in South Florida in the 1950's. Desperate to rid themselves of their cumbersome virginity, they head out to a sleazy bar near the swamps called Porky's, where local legend has it that the owner will fix you up with a prostitute for a reasonable fee. After Porky takes their money and dumps them in the swamp, the guys vow to get revenge. Meanwhile, Pee Wee has to deal with his shrinking penis, someone drills a hole in the wall of the girl's shower, the guys encounter a prostitute named Cherry Forever, and anti-Semitism rears its ugly head. Cheerfully rude in a manner few mainstream films had achieved at that time, Porky's, for better or worse, changed the standard of what was acceptable in a screen comedy. Remarkably enough, two years later director Bob Clark made the holiday favorite A Christmas Story, which displayed his considerable range, if nothing else. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

A fun 80s sex comedy mixed with a fifties teen movie. It's interesting, mostly funny, and entertaining. But on the other hand there are a bunch of stupid jokes and I didn't like the ending, it was ridiculous. Overall, it's pretty good, but it could have been better.

"I've never seen such wool, you could knit a sweater."

Set in 1954, a group of Florida high schoolers seek out to lose their virginity which leads them to seek revenge on a sleazy nightclub owner and his redneck sheriff brother for harassing them.

Grubby but mildly entertaining comedy whose audience is most likely to be its own characters, a crowd of horny teenagers whose quest to get laid leads them to the strip club of the title and kicks off a feud with its owner. They're not a particularly likable bunch, but the fun they have rubs off; their constant laughter is infectious, particularly during the scene in which the girls' gym coach tries to explain her plan to identify a student by his 'tallywhacker' while a bunch of guys in the background crap their pants laughing. Actual gags are thin on the ground, as are decent performances, although a couple sneak in amidst the slimy tone and gratingly juvenile humour. Best viewed before you're old enough to get your hands on real porn.

Take a teenage boy's obsession with sex and create a movie around it - this is your result. The Porky's storyline is just mere filler around the high-school antics of this horny gang.

Much like Christmas Story, this is just incredibly corny and very much the American Pie of its time. The story seemed to be set around perverted scenarios rather than an actual plot or characters. I think it's basically the worst message you can send out to incoming high school k... read moreids because it revolves entirely around sex and action. I just never saw the humor or why it worked for some, Bob Clark should have stuck to horror movies.

The all time king of teen sex comedies. It's a raunchy version of American Graffiti.

It stands up pretty well nearly 20 years later. It still makes me laugh. Although It because of porky's that we have crap like American Pie and other such disgusting, inane American wank movies. Porky's is good though, hurrah for Porky's.

Is it bad that I saw this years ago when I was 9 or so? Eek!

) The infamous girls' shower locker room scene. Boy, do you get to see plenty of smoking hot young ladies parading about in their birthday suits. Plus the whole gag involving one guy shoving his penis through the peephole is totally hilarious. 2) There's something for the ladies,... read more too. A bunch of young guys disrobe and bare their entire bodies as well, so this film can't be accused of being sexist. 3) Kim Cattrall. She's always been (and still is) a major babe. Well, she's absolutely delectable here as a luscious coach who howls like a dog while making love to a fellow high school coach in a men's locker room. 4) The cast have a ball with their roles. Dan Monahan portrays the libidinous Pee Wee with impish charm and glee to spare. Kaki Hunter is likewise absolutely adorable as the brash Wendy. Popping up in nifty supporting parts are Nancy Parsons as the uptight gym teacher Ms. Ballbricker, Chuck Mitchell as detestable brothel owner Porky, Alex Karras as a corrupt sheriff, Eric Christmas as the meek principal, and Susan Clark as a bawdy prostitute. 5) The anti-Semiticism subplot about one guy who antagonizes a Jewish student because his brutish dad beats him up is surprisingly strong and poignant. Moreover, it's real heavy stuff for a comedy. 6) The picture's outrageously raunchy sense of no-holds-barred crude'n'rude humor will never win awards for either taste or subtlety, but it's nonetheless constantly funny in a blithely lowbrow sort of way. 7) It's a well-made little flick with slick cinematography, a rockin' score, and a catchy golden oldies soundtrack. 8) Writer/director Bob Clark. Does this man have an amazingly eclectic resume or what? From the seasonal slasher prototype "Black Christmas" to the utterly charming yuletide favorite "A Christmas Story" to the first two "Porky's" movies, Clark delivered a steady succession of on the money solid and enjoyable features. Rest in peace Bob Clark and thank you for all the terrific entertainment.

Reminded me of a mix between Grease and American Pie.

An easy watching movie, but without anything too special going on. I?m sure the appeal of this film during the era of it?s release was directed toward the sexual nature and nudity, which of course in this age is no shock.
