The new lieutenant at the station (Art Metrano) is not anxious to see them succeed -- and begins to roadblock their efforts against the graffiti artists. Not to be easily outmaneuvered, Mahoney and friends plot an appropriate revenge. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

This sequel isn't as good as the first, but it's still very funny and enjoyable, and I especially liked Goldthwait, he really makes this movie better than it would have been.

Always a comical watch and one of the best American comedy film series from the 80's. Memorable scenes and a good bunch of characters.

It's a natural progression, but the film was certainly rushed into production. Because of this they dropped the ball in certain aspects. Only 6 of the original cadets are able to appear, which forces more focus onto a love affair for Tackleberry. This actually works out, as Cattr... read moreall's boring character is nowhere to be seen. This allows Mahoney to go free and not be tied down. Unfortunately Harris is out, due to Bailey being busy with other commitments. Luckily the new antagonist isn't terrible, but he just misses that spark. Seeing the cadets out on the beat is quite smile inducing, if repetitive. Winslow uses his vocal techniques, people are taken aback by Smith's size, Ramsey is belittled because of her voice etc. It's familiar territory, and the new characters are hardly stand-out. Let's face it, if a film franchise like this had tried to develop its characters, we'd be even more disappointed.

Hilarious sequel to the first one. Steve Guttenberg still was hilarious and Bobcat Goldthwait made me crack up too! This one is definetly worth a watch! :)

Watch out! They've got to clean up the worst crime district in the world. But that's no problem. They're the worst police force in the universe.

So bad that its quite good.

"What you got there, cologne? -No. lt's gun oil"

Mahoney and his gang are back! But what made the first "Police Academy" a special comedy and a future classic in its own genre, is totally missing in this sequel.

The film lacks decent comedy. There's only just irrelevant scenes ... read morethat try to make a film. Some of the scenes are funny, like the asian restaurant scene, but most of them are just plain boring.

"Police Academy 2" proves that sequels are something that can, if only made to cash in easy money, ruin the good memories of the original movie.

Not as good as the first one, but still better than the 237 sequels that followed it. What's Johnny Fever doing as a cop, anyway?
  • July 22, 2007
i already saw it, and i don't want to see it
  • July 7, 2007
Maintains the high quality of fun the first one had, with its goofy assortment of characters and situations. Bobcat Goldthwait's hilarious character of a gang leader taking over the city zoo is introduced.

More trash, though graced with the franchise's best actor, Bobcat Goldthwait.
