A movie about waiting. Doesn't sound too interesting, but when you have well written characters, their interactions become action. This is the story of a heist that goes a little awry. The gang must then hideout. This sounds easier than it is, as fingers begin to point at a setup... read more

I watched Burt Money a while back, and now reviewing it, the first thing that came to mind is that the subtitles were censored. I realize that is irrelevant and random, but I have never came across that before. Plus, it was a really half-assed job. They were just sort of blurred ... read more

May 14, 2012fb100000185301014I wouldn't say it's the best film because it was dribbling. It's based on a true Argentinian robbery that took place in the 1960s. A violent thriller from Argentina, based on the true story of a crime spree that spread across Argentina and Uruguay in 1965 by a pair of criminals known as The Twins. This great film reminds me of Bonnie & Clyde.

There was so much sexual tension between the two main characters that I was a little disappointed that we didn't see them have sex. But it was still ridiculously hot and good, nonetheless.

A sexy, intense crime thriller from Argentina. Full Review
Directed with enough (borrowed) style by Marcelo Pineyro that we barely notice its lack of original ideas. Full Review
With flavorful acting, direction and cinematography, Burnt Money touches on emotions universal to any relationship. Full Review
A sexy, mildly entertaining import. Full Review
Piñeyro ... meticulously keeps pumping the tension until it's no longer a question of what's going to happen, but when. Full Review
Are we any the wiser at the end of this exercise in beautiful, messed-up nihilism? Not a bit. Could we stop watching? Not for a moment. Full Review
The film does have a certain visceral power, thanks to the striking, music video-style visuals.
A bravura work that attests to Pineyro's command of a style rich in texture and nuance and also of multilayered material. Full Review
These characters exist without motive, but they pulse with a despairing, intensely erotic energy. Full Review
