As far as American J-horror remakes go, this might be the worst (and I've seen The Uninvited).

Before seeing this, I had heard many, many bad things about this film. Every review was negative. So, initially I passed up on it. But then, I just decided to watch, and to my surprise, it wasn't too bad. I thought the film was borderline decent considering all the flack the film... read more

One of the Worst horror films ever. I have never seen a plot that is as stupid as this. It had horrible acting. The actors were hand picked by retards. It was also a rip off of The Final Destination. It was retarded as shit and I will never watch again.

A vengeful spirit transfers from mobile phone to mobile phone, leaving a message featuring the last words of the owner just before they are horribly killed. This film is everything that's wrong with the horror genre these days. It's the kind of film that was probably created in a... read more

What will it sound like when you die?...
I would say that this movie is scary and not boring at all. I liked the beginning. I must admit the ending was a bit weird and unacceptable. You call that twist while I call that sad ending. The story was good. I ... read more -

Familiar to The Ring of a scary and spooky mysterious girl who sends the voicemail messages onto the college students during their last moments alive. At the final scene was the shocker one I ever saw.

Very average. Personally I didn't like the 'happy' ending, and thought that the overuse of flashy effects made it less creepy than the original. Also didn't like how they made Ellie seem like a 'bad egg' right from the off with the wearing black and liking creepy things. It was s... read more

Not really scary, not really entertaining, and not really engaging. Unoriginal, boring, and predictable, One Missed Call is the one movie you should miss in 2008.

One Missed Call
Even less scary than Jessica Alba?s Asian /The Eye/, this J-horror remake is guaranteed a, ahem, bad reception. Foolishly, it doesn?t distract you with the original?s great tagline: ?Death cannot be put on hold.? Even more foolishly, it doesn?t distract you with J... read more

To redial applicable catchphrases, this garbled American remake of Takashi Miike's already staticky 2004 exercise in J-horror is a wrong number. Full Review
The direction is uninspired, acting is lifeless, and the script borders on the inept. A PG-13 rating means that it's short on shocks, too.
If you missed the first One Missed Call, made in Japan in 2004, you now can miss the American remake. Full Review
The best part of the movie is the fact that, at a running time of an hour and a half, it's mercifully short. Full Review
Given all the hoopla over the Apple iPhone, it's a wonder that no one has yet complained over an essential missing feature: It doesn't ring you up to alert you that you are going to die. Full Review
Another demonstration of how certain studios and producers care neither about us nor the skill required to pull off a respectable work of garbage. Full Review
A brow-furrowing blend of child abuse and adult trauma, Andrew Klavan's screenplay sacrifices coherence for atmosphere at every turn.
The worst part about this movie is that, even though it's impossible to piece everything together logically, it's easy to see where it's going because there's nothing new here. There's a sameness to a... Full Review
