One for the Money Reviews and Ratings

Written by a woman and directed by another woman. One can only imagine that this is a ploy to convince people that beautiful, sexy women can make it in the bounty hunting game...Message not received. This movie is incredibly dull.

This movie is for people who are fans of the book, period. I don't even consider this a romantic comedy, I consider it a comedy. It was pretty true to the books and not quite as entertaining...but good, especially for fans of the books.

Not bad, but it's the second time Katherine Heigl disappointed me after The Ugly Truth.

It was sweet but it could have been way better.

This is Heigl's V.I.Warshawski moment. It has as much entertainment value as a made for tv movie. It's nothing special.

Felt like a cop show half an hour too long. Boring. I thought this was going to be so funny because of the trailer but it actually isn't. Katherine Heigl is an attractive woman but I just don't find her interesting. I'm glad I waited for this to watch on dvd instead of watching i... read moret in the theatre. Skip this one if possible.

It was a one time watch, not the best but pretty good

I didn't find it that boring. Probably a little more exciting in novel form, though.

This was one story that should have been left strictly in book format. The book series is great and the characters are quirky and hilarious. The movie does not have enough time to properly introduce characters so it turns into a pile of jumbled mess with bad Jersey accents on top... read more of all the other problems. Only people that read the book will be able to keep up with what is happening in this movie and they won't be happy with the results.

Definitely not one of Heigl best, but it had some good moments. I would not really recommend this film as I do not feel it is a must see. Watch it if you have a spare hour and a half to waste.

I don't particularly enjoy Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum mysteries, a series about a hard nosed Jersey girl who turns bounty hunter to make money, but at least the books don't take themselves too seriously. One For The Money was the first of now 18 and counting Plum books, pub... read morelished way back in 1994, and this year it hit the big screen with a mother of a miscasting. Grey's Anatomey and resident terrible rom com star Katherine Heigl takes on the role of Plum, with her signature blonde locks dyed brown. It's not happening. One For The Money serves as an origin story, in which we see Stephanie go from selling lingerie in Newark to taking on bad guys. Well we sort of see it. The whole movie is just phony surface, form Heigl's insufferable accent to her romance with Joe Morelli (Jason O'Mara), the cop who once dated her and now the suspect she has to take in. Three screenwriters (Stacy Sherman, Karen Ray and Liz Brixius) suck everything clever and humorous from Evanovich's book. What's on screen instead is just dull, lifeless and God-awful. Here's hoping they stop at this one.
