The only reason I saw this movie was because I thought Jack Nicholson was in it, but he just has a very small role. Streisand is the star and she just keeps singing, I didn't even understand what the story was about. I was too bored to care anyway.

I love this movie, but was sad to see that Netflix (or whomever they get thier movies from) sent out an edited version, without all of the previous lives in it. I plan on complaining to Netflix about this. I remembered the other lives from watching it on tv as a kid.

This film was the perfect example of a fascinating concept completely blitzed by horrible direction. I have heard that Vincente Minnelli went senile in his later years and this sloppy joe movie seemingly backs this up. Yves Montond and Barbra's alter ego have NO chemistry, whi... read more

I just love the concept of the story, and musical. It handles the subject of reincarnation in an intertaining way.

Barbra does justice to ALL of her characters in this. Good music too. Story is a bit of fluff that was popular in the late 60's, but it's a good movie. And Jack Nicholson was YOUNG.

Streisand sings a duet with... Streisand! Cavorting through time and costumes has never been so much fun! And Jack Nicholson!

This is probably my 3rd favorite Streisand show. I loved how her and jack ended up at the end, I also loved all the flashbacks.
Critic Reviews
Though one of Minnelli's weaker films, this Alan J. Lerner's musical, which bears thematic resemblance to Minnelli's Gigi and Cukor's My Fair Lady, is worth seeing for Streisand's performance. Full Review
Visually rich Minnelli musical - a delight. Full Review
Streisand shines in otherwise dull musical.
