Three men relive their carefree college years by killing off as many brain cells as possible in this over-the-top comedy. Mitch (Luke Wilson) returns home from a less-than-pleasant business trip one e... read more read more...vening to discover his wife, Heidi (Juliette Lewis), involved in a ménage à trois with two blindfolded strangers. Feeling less than welcome at home after this, Mitch rents a house near the campus of a nearby college; two of Mitch's old college buddies, Beanie (Vince Vaughn) and Frank (Will Ferrell), stop by to cheer him up. They soon become regular guests at Mitch's place, despite the fact that Frank only recently wed Marissa (Perrey Reeves), while Beanie and his wife, Lara (Leah Remini), are busy with two kids. Beanie decides to throw a housewarming party for Mitch, and since Beanie sells audio equipment for a living, he's able to trick out the big bash with a massive PA system and an appearance by Snoop Dogg. Mitch soon finds he's the not-entirely-willing proprietor of the school's leading party spot, which raises the ire of Pritchard (Jeremy Piven), a dean at the college who was the target of Mitch, Frank, and Beanie's abuse when they were all students. Pritchard arranges to have Mitch's neighborhood zoned into a student housing district, but Beanie and Frank respond by forming a fraternity and making Mitch's home their headquarters. Mitch, however, is not enthusiastic about the idea, especially as he's trying to impress Nicole (Ellen Pompeo), a beautiful divorcee who is less than enchanted with Frank and Beanie's "party hearty" lifestyle. Old School director Todd Phillips knows more than a bit about the seamy side of fraternity life as director of the infamous unreleased documentary Frat House. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Old School is a movie of moments and it's the good ones that raise this a little above your average comedy flick. Will Ferrel is hilarious and Vince Vaugn is also pretty funny too. It's humour is director Todd Phillips' trademark raunchy and dark humoured style comedy and there's a few decent jokes if you enjoy that sort of thing. It's a good effort from everyone involved. It's not as good as Phillips' The Hangover but without a doubt, it's better than Road Trip.

There are some movies that try to be raunchy without the substance to convince audiences that the characters are genuinely raunchy (I'm looking at most of the iterations of the National Lampoon's movies). "Old School" delivers it. Though there were only a few laughs in there, it ... read morewas entertaining for what it was; plus, this is one of the few roles where Will Farrell doesn't try too hard to be outlandishly crazy.

I thought this was actually pretty good. Three friends (Luke Wilson, Will Ferell, Vince Vaughn) create a fraternity and must do everything to stop the asshole dean from trying to stop there fraternity. The plot of this was nothing and completely forgettable. The comedy was gre... read moreat, I loved every joke in this. The acting was funny but I didn't find Luke Wilson funny, everyone else was funny. Overall if you want comedy go see this movie. Will Ferell still lives as my favorite comedian.

A fun movie made possible by the great comedic talents of Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, and especially Will Ferrell. Without the strong cast and Phillips' obvious comedic touch and style, the movie would've been much farther off. Even if the jokes don't always stick, the entertainme... read morent always does, especially for any comedic fan.

Old School for me was once a terrific comedy. With every viewing, the film got worst, the jokes staler and the story sucks. The scenes without Will Farrell aren't that funny, and make the film very boring. The first half of the film is great, but the second half brings it down to... read more a whole new low. An hour into the movie, the actors seem like they're lacking on good jokes are a struggling to do something funny. Old School is decent, but it doesn't stand the test of time. The scenes with Farrell were the best, it's the only thing keeping me from giving this film less than 2 and half stars. Along with Talladega Nights, this is Will Farrell's funniest film, and thats not saying much. The guys career is going in the shitter with every new film he makes. At least with Old School he's the funniest and best scenes. Take those scenes out, and Ol School would suck ass. I'll stick with comedy greats such as The Big Lebowski and The Hangover. I'm not watching this film. A decent comedy, but overall a big disappointment if you take into account that Will Farrell makes this film what it is.

Old School is a great comedy that never gets old. The cast is incredibly funny and work extremely well off of each other. The plot is actually existant and is really well concieved. It has everything you'd want in a comedy without any sort of corny aspect to it.

Only fitfully funny, except when Ferrell is onscreen -- then you won't stop laughing.

A flatland of lowest-common- denominated retro-collegiate wackiness. Full Review

This is a raucous frat-school comedy that's dopey, degrading and disgusting -- and consistently hilarious. Full Review

An extremely funny and, of course, socially unredeemable comedy.

Old School has all the ingredients of an uproarious campus comedy, but it lacks a boisterous short-order cook who could whip up a food fight or three.

There's no school like this Old School, and this one earns high marks for hilarity.

    • Therapist: Frank, this is a safe place. A place where we can feel free sharing our feelings. Think of my office as a nest in a tree of trust and understanding. We can say anything here.
    • Frank "The Tank": Anything? Well, uh I guess I, deep down, am feeling a little confused. I mean, suddenly, you get married, and you're supposed to be this entirely different guy. I don't feel different. I mean, take yesterday for example. We were out at the Olive Garden for dinner, which was lovely. And uh, I happen to look over at a certain point during the meal and see a waitress taking an order, and I found myself wondering what color her underpants might be. Her panties. Uh, odds are they are probably basic white, cotton, underpants. But I sort of think well maybe they're silk panties, maybe it's a thong. Maybe it's something really cool that I don't even know about. You know, and uh, and I started feeling... what? what I thought we were in the trust tree in the nest, were we not?
