    Jackie reboots the Police Story franchise and things go awry. The original movies shined because they were a mix of action/comedy that really blends well with Chan's comical acting; a staple style in his work that any fan can vouch for.

    The reach for emotional realism might be a... read more good endeavor in theory but the conflicts that take place just get littered with plot holes to a point where you can't take anyone in this film seriously. Combined with a cast of unconvincing villains and support roles, we end up with a poor mix-mash of HK styled drama and silly 1v1 beat-ehm-ups.

    Except for the dufus who plays his new replacement partner, this is WONDERFUL : ) It's Jackie Chan to begin with, so, really, we should just watch it even we think poorly of it in the end. But on the side of arguing that it's worth watching, no matter how good or bad it might b... read moree -- Oh, well that's the side of the argument I sit on -- so please just go ahead and watch this one. It really is one of Jackie Chan's best acting jobs -- I think.

    This is a great Jackie Chan movie. The story is very good and the usual Jackie Chan stunts/fights are entertaining. This is also a more serious movie with minimal comedic scenes as some of Jackie's older movies tended to be more funny.

    A good movie which sees Jackie abandoned his comic character for a broken, alcoholic cop on his last nerves. Jackie is Hong Kong's finest, until he is taken into a deadly game by ruthless thrill seeking criminals - in which his entire squad is killed.
    Fast forward one year late... read morer, Jackie is down on bottles, refuses to marry his girlfriend and thoroughly depressed, until a young, charismatic police officer becomes his partner who tries to save his soul while helping Jackie to break the failed case which has haunted him the past year.
    The gang, led by a ruthless leader with personal issues, is hell bent on killing cops, and when Jackie enters the game once again, he then becomes their target.

    Everyone knows Jackie as the goofy comic with lightning fast moves, but Jackie is a very convincing and is not just an action star, but plays the drama well. What makes this movie is the strong performances and Jackie supported by a young cast which is great - Nicholas Tse the standout as the egnimatic young officer.

    If your in a mood for change, and something along the lines of an action thriller, Jackie Style, then this is pretty good in my books. Of course, action is still the same - raw, hard and very Jackie.

    Awesome, totally awesome, high flying high octane overload. A must see event for any martial arts enthusiast. What this police captain went theough to take down this crime spree gang...was so intense that some of the stunts performed should and can never be duplicated. Jackie Cha... read moren is king!

    Awesome film. New police story is a great action hong kong movie. Jackie Chan and Nicholas Tse make a great fallen hero, and clueless youngster partnership, and as always Daniel Wu is a great bad guy.
