Neighbor, from Robert A. Masciantonio, excels on too few levels to be successful.
The film runs under 90 minutes, but with a paper thin plot it doesn't feel that brief. The introduction serves as a good snare; however, there isn't much to gain after that. The story nev

Though the blood and gore were very realistic, and the acting was pretty decent, that still doesn't make up for the shitty writing and useless plot. Some things the characters said in the movie was just so stupid. Like I couldn't imagine anyone saying that in real life. I'd give ... read more

A little nasty and extreme low budget creeper.
This movie is brutal. Loads of disgusting bloody torture, I don't get how this didn't receive an NC-17 rating. Maybe it did originally I just didn't do research on it's MPAA ratings. But other than it's gruesome gory violence ther... read more -

"You've no idea where I've been".

The Neighbor is a glorified gore medley, trying viciously too hard to compare to the likes of Hostel and the Saw franchise. Without a comprehensible plot and lack of a single legitimate actor or actress, the film falls flatā?¦ and hard.

Interesting premise, but horribly done. Gorehounds can check it just for the very explicit torture scenes, otherwise, skip it>>>>

Awful, middling acting, with a story that feels like it starts in mid-stream, this is filled with some half-assed dialog and a cute female lead, though she never gets as crazy as the role expects her to be.
Pass, unless you've just got a thing for America Olivo. -
January 13, 2012fb555928095Neighbor was certainly brutal and somewhat entertaining, but it lacked any kind of intelligence to back up its premise. A fun but ultimately kind of crappy gore film, Neighbor will fulfill the needs of horror films on one level but will fundamentally disappoint serious fans.
