Marvelous drama adapted by the Manga comic book in a chance encounter between two girls of the same name, "Nana", triggers a series of events and relationships. I haven't read the comic book yet so I see the story is as interesting and the emotional scenes are pretty touching. M... read moreika Nakashima was great at expressing her voice as the singer and Aoi Miyazaki was the perfect Hachi, looked so cute and innocent young woman.
At the end, it's the friendship and comradeship between the two girls that gives this Japanese movie an uplifting, feel-good ending.

Two very different 20 year old women meet on a train to Tokyo. Other than the fact they're both named Nana, they have very different pasts and personalities. Despite this, they're destined to become very big parts of each other's lives.

Based on the very popular anime and manga... read more of the same name, this is a fun adaption. The musical aspects of the story are kept, and are as nearly as important to the story as the relationship between the two Nana's. Speaking of, the actresses chosen to play the two title characters are great, and the story is as interesting for guys as it is the girls who are the original audience.

NANA was a good movie, I liked it. Obviously it's more recommended for people who are already familiar with the source material, but even NANA newbies should enjoy this.

Nana may suffer from being a condensed version of an expansive Manga universe, but it also knows exactly how much time to spend on individual plots strands. Nana is a coming of age, female friendship film that handles immature and young emotions with absolute maturity. The most i... read morempressive aspect was creating a relationship between one of the protagonists boyfriends and another girl. It easily could have made him a villain, but instead took an unbiased look at how the relationship came to be. Luckily, for a film focused on bands, the music is relatively good. Nakashima and Miyazaki both inhabit their roles well and build up a believable friendship. Highly enjoyable, even if it doesn't quite feel complete.

One of the cutest films I have ever seen! A true story of friendship and love. I love Nana K.'s character! Aoi Miyazaki was a perfect actress to play her! I like the part when Nana O. decides to nickname Nana K. "Hachi" because she is like a little puppy dog, cute and fluffly but... read more a lot to handle! The storyline was great and I love how persnnaly Nana K. and Nana O. become bestfriends despite being the exact opposite. I like that Nana K. came back to see Ren even after it had been a long time since they had seen each other and they still loved each other. It was kind of annoying that Nana K. and Ren would not commit to a relationship, but just wanted to sleep around. Nana O. was annoying and I understand why Shoji was annoyed but Nana's friend was right, he needed to man up and either break up with her or break it off with the other girl. Over all a moving movie about best friends that all girls should go see right now! Sorry guys, this really isn't a guy movie.

A beautiful film of friendship between two Nanas. I love this movie the main characters have depth, humor and charm.

Absolutely loved to see the characters come to life from the Japanese manga. The story line from the manga did not stray in the movie.

I think a lot of people like this because they just like Nana from the manga and/or anime... or else they aren't familiar with those and don't know how badly everything was done. First of all, they do a terrible job of portraying Komatsu Nana the way she's supposed to be. They ma... read moreke it out like she's always the victim when in reality (in the reality of the anime, anyway) she basically falls in love with every guy she sees and makes plenty of dumb decisions. Also what were they thinking when they chose the guy for Shin? Isn't he supposed to be like 15? On top of that, I don't care if Mika Nakashima is some kind of popular idol, she's a bad actress and you know it. Oosaki Nana is supposed to be a really intense person and Mika made her completely lifeless. The only thing I was impressed with was the attention to detail they had with the sets and costumes and things like that. It really did look like Nana's apartment and Jackson Burger from the anime, except in real life.

This is a brilliant movie. It is in Japanese so you do need subtitles to understand it, but it's so moving. This movie actually made me cry. I loved it, but it's not one of my top favs.

i was hoping this film would fully restore my faith in modern Japanese cinema (besides Kitano and Miyazaki). it wasnt the movie i was hoping for but still enjoyable. some great cinematography and creatively constructed scenes made the film for me. however, it starts off very prom... read moreising then descends into sentimentality and heavy handed drama. I suppose its emotionally excessive nature stems from its manga origins. worth a watch but im still waiting for a new great film from Japan.
