Meanwhile, Jazz's best friend, the Pakistani immigrant Imran Khan (Upen Patel) is kicked out of the house by his parents when he informs them of his decision to move in with a Caucasian girlfriend. Jazz's father grows so desperate to force her into planned nuptials that he carts her off to India, where her path crosses with that of Arjun (Akshay Kumar), a local farmer instantly desperate to marry her. Jazz concocts a clever means of dodging this proposition, but the smitten Arjun refuses to take no for an answer, and follows Jazz back to London. As this unfolds, Imran suffers under the pressure imposed on him by his girlfriend's parents, who insist that he anglicize his name and his religion. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

This is a fantastic movie, very romantical! The movie plot is a little slow in starting (with only one good part in the beginning- Arjun giving Jazz away at the church wedding and then walking away), it doesn't pick up until Jazz and her parents travel to India and she thus meets... read more Arjun for the first time. From then on, its fascinating and intriguing. Arjun dancing and singing is so expressive of his emotions and in his happiness, and one cannot help but feel for him throughout the movie. One also cannot help but connect with his plights and hardships, in all the characters- it is Arjun that one really connects with. His sense of humor is truly intriguing and he is such a sweetheart! FANTASTIC LOVE STORY!

Great music; dance/pop/r&b-ish! It's good to see movies like this that give reflections to other films-i.e. like 40's American film noirs, nightclub sequences. (Example: Akshay Kumar (Arjun) singing "Chakna..." in the nightclub, as he holds the mike, he sways to and fro like most nightclub singers, but with a phenomenal twist! That is definitely my favorite scene! DANCE MUSIC!! Truly amazing, I don't mind getting the soundtrack for this.

Namastey London doesn't really have anything new to say on an over-worked issue. But it does (mostly) manage to keep away from cringe territory, and even explores some subtle immigration quandaries. Full Review
