Nacho Libre is a surprisingly decent comedy with Jack Black, whom I never really was a big fan of. This is a fun, whimsical comedy and is one of the better films with Jack Black. Nacho Libre is a decent flick with a few good laughs here and there, but is never anything great. Wha... read more

Despite some poor moments Nacho Libre performs to the expected standard, with some moments that you just hate, and with others that you just love.
Directed by Jared Hess, famous for "Napoleon Dynamite, and also written by him along with Jerusha Hess and Mike White, the film is a... read more -

Have hilarious scenes and is somewhat fun. The screenplay however don't made Nacho Libre, fresh.

Nacho Libre confirmed a long suspicion of mine, Jack Black is not funny.
Nacho Libre follows an unhappy Monk who dreams of being a Wrestler. Unfortunately I was left feeling that the film could have delivered so much more but like the character ended up falling flat on its face... read more -

Jack Black is lazy in his comedy, and it shows in this racist depiction of a somewhat wrestler in Mexico. Next they'll bring back Mickey Rooney from Breakfast at Tiffany's, make a ful llength movie, and call it "the funniest thing this year." No thank you.

Nacho Libre, naïvely made kids' stuff, lacks such minor attributes as a decent script and supporting cast.
Nacho Libre strikes a delicate balance of whimsy and absurdity that may surprise auds primed to expect wall-to-wall slapstick. Full Review
The film's sheer lack of everything that customarily passes for comic fuel -- energy, wit, character, fun, a plot -- renders Nacho Libre a torturous patience tester of the first order. Full Review
The comedy is hit and miss, with good bits interrupted by dead patches. Full Review
After a promising beginning, Nacho Libre goes off the rails with its over-the-top satire and intentional campiness failing to generate many laughs. Full Review
The beautifully shot Nacho Libre presents its improbable hero -- doughy, boyish and speaking in a dubious accent -- as someone utterly confident of his abilities, and his place in the world.
Oddly reverent, faintly patronizing (they shot it in Mexico, with an exceptionally homely cast of extras), and always warm and funny. Full Review
The combination of body slams and bathroom jokes makes it a heck of a lot livelier than Cars. Full Review
Nacho Libre, the often hilarious follow-up to Napoleon Dynamite by director Jared Hess, settles it: This is the world's funniest Mormon.
