He has no idea that it belonged to a shot down alien space craft and that it contains not only the power to generate time warps, it can also destroy the world. If he did, he might not have turned it on. Unfortunately, he does activate it and sends his entire class back in time. The special effects are especially notable, as the kids roam Earth from the dawn of time, to the future. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

They must NOT destroy the world.

This is as cheesy as the cover makes it look. But it is entertaining even with all those cliche 80's elements.

This film is a ton of fun and appropriately stocked with 80's cheesiness. The biggest surprise is the prescence of Dennis Hopper as the science teacher.

True guilty pleasure! Has everything a young moviegoer would go to the movies to see, even now my imagination still runs wold with this movie.

At a junkyard a high school science wiz finds a piece of equipment that opens black holes and portals. Only him, his butt-buddy and a nerdy girl from the school newspaper know of this (sound familiar? - see Zapped!). When the teacher (Dennis Hopper playing an old hippie) discover... read mores this he gets sucked into the warp. Later the three kids try to shut it down but are transported to an alternate reality with Nazis, gladiators, monsters etc that they have to battle. Not as good as it sounds, the sets were on par with something terrible like Creepozoids, but this is a bit better for the kiddies.

Now this movie still rocks.I rented it again a little while ago and enjoyed it as much as I did when I was a kid.I wish that sort of thing happened in my school.
A real cool movie.thats for sure!

This movie is my childhood favorite. It requires heavy suspension of disbelief. However, once you just go with it, the movie is brilliantly simple and entertaining. Who doesn't love seeing movies that use 80's lingo?

Just gotta love these low budget, cheesy films from the '80s. Just watched this movie again after about 20 years.

Surprisingly plausible and at the same time entertaining. Best part: Hunting the dinosaurs in the gym with Vietnam-stolen guns.
