It was very good but not my absolute favorite movie.

The original My Sassy Girl is one of my all time favourite movies. The main problem with this remake is that it just doesn't translate well as a story. While the Korean original Sassy Girl is funny and over the top, this one played by Elisha Cuthbert is just obnoxious and a bit... read more rude. I have no real gripe with Elisha as an actress, I have seen her in things before and found her okay, but My Sassy Girl, she is not.
Quite honestly I wish they would just overdub the original films if people are too stupid or lazy to read the subtitles. Occasionally there is a good remake of a film, but they are far and few between, and this definitely isn't one of them.
I guess it is okay just as a rental, but it's not written very well and is below average even for that. They seem to have really dumbed this one down. It's a shame as it may put people off seeing the original which really was very well done.

    Sassy, for sure... Like it!!!

An American copy of the original Korean movie, but still worth a watch.

Sweet and simple but lacking the warmth of the original. It rushes the original into 90 minutes making a respectful and believable relationship impossible. One of the joys of the original was seeing the resistance the main character had to the relationship, making it even more tr... read moreagic later on. A lot of the scenes seemed forced into the film, such as the soldier scene which here really is out of place. Cuthbert is okay but she just isn't Sassy enough, confrontational enough or even scary enough. Bradford also doesn't seems a bit too willing. It is enjoyable, probably more so if you haven't seen the classic original which is truly amazing. Hell they couldn't even pull off the beautiful Rose/Pachelbel scene.

A sweet Midwestern guy (Bradford) with his life planned out for himself is wooed, groomed, and ultimately dumped by a complicated, elusive gal (Cuthbert).

Another remake by Hollywood that failed to deliver. 'My Sassy Girl' was once a stunning Korean film that is until Hollywood ... read morelaid its dirty grubby little paws on it and just like every other remake Hollywood has done, it is again not that impressive.

Save for a couple of scenes with beautifully shot cinematography and a touchy feely-feely love story between Cuthbert and Bradford, it was so goddamn cheesy, I actually liked the chemistry between them.

Well after that, pretty much everything goes downhill. The plot is close to non-existent and the love story, albeit good cheesy fun at times, just drags on and on until it ends.

'My Sassy Girl' is a 2.5/5

She was kind of crazy, but it turned out to be a very sweet love story, and I wasn't expecting that ending.

Elisha Cuthbert stars as Jordan Roark, a ditzy, crazy and perpetually drunken gal whom Charlie Bellow (Jesse Bradford) falls for one random night when he saves her from potentially injuring/killing herself at the subway. This film was more than I could have imagined. It had the plot of every chick flick ever made, but had such a style and such a great cast that it has become one of my favorites of all time. Elisha Cuthbert is brilliant and I really enjoyed her character. It's nice that we can fin... read moreally see he "act". The story is very strong, and though it seems done before, there is a nice spin. It reminded me of Wicker Park mixed with Serendipity. Messes with the idea of fate and destiny. There are twists throughout and heartbreaking themes. Guaranteed you will cry.

There was something about this film that resonated with me, the realistic romance, the heartbreak, the characters, the reasons for their coming together. I just seem to like sweet meandering films with nothing to them except great dialogue between handsome leads, quirky character... read mores, eventful adventures and interesting settings.
