Romance is all over the ruins of Greece in the little romcom. I loved the whole thing. I cried, laughed and had a smile on my face. It made me want to visit Greece and take a bus tour. If you like Under The Tuscan Sun and My Big Fat Greek Wedding, this movie is so for you. It's s... read more

There were great laugh out loud moments. Richard Dreyfuss is the highlight of this film. It is in scenes with Nia Vardalos and Dreyfuss that the movie shines. The scene at the beach was so brief but so powerful... Dreyfuss makes the most of those brief moments. The scenery is fan... read more

Do I really need to go over the plot of this film? Do I? It's like every other film of its ilk that's shot out of Hollywood in the last thirty years. OK, let's do this review as a quiz and you can score yourself:
1) Georgia (Nia Vardolos) is a Greek history professor who can not... read more -

Tacky on nearly all fronts, this Big Fat Greek Wedding wannabe sequel features that hit movie?s star, Nia Vardalos, and plops her in Greece as an unhappy, uptight, undersexed tour guide. The movie follows her exploits to regain her ?kefi,? Greek for ?mojo.? My Life in Ruins paint... read more

didn't see "greek wedding" and i don't have a teevee so this actress, Nia Vardalos was a surprise...quirky and somehow different. dreyfuss is the fount of wit and wisdom here and everyone else is similarly and stereotypically cast and played in a stereotypical romantic comedy wh... read more

A couple of good laughs in this light comedy. I saw Nia Vardalos in "My Big Greek Wedding" and this was good, also. Not disappointed at all...alot of fun....being a tourist on this trip. It's simply a good movie.

I didn't expect anything from this movie and I was pleasantly surprised? it was easy to watch? it was funny? it had romance and a story? it wasn?t in the same category like the previous My Big Fat Wedding but that does not make it a bad movie! Recommending it for a family fun!
Critic Reviews
It doesn't feel genuine at all, it feels contrived from start to finish. Full Review
You know precisely where it's headed and how it will get there halfway into Act One. Full Review
My Life in Ruins will neither ruin nor change nor significantly impact your life. Full Review
Defiantly square and focus-group engineered to appeal to those harboring a soft spot for "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," the Nia Vardalos vehicle My Life in Ruins doesn't do Greece or its star many favors. Full Review
If only there was something -- anything -- else about this broad, clunky comedy to keep its name from being an oh-so-obvious punchline. Full Review
Notably thinner, less awkward and a lot less charming, Vardalos is back with My Life in Ruins, a desperate, crass and probably futile attempt at replicating the earlier movie's fluke success. Full Review
Half the time I wanted everyone to shut up so I could hear the tour guide lecture on the Temple of Hephaestus, or wherever. Then I wanted them to shut up so I could sleep. Full Review
'Ruins' is indeed an apt descriptor for this picture. Full Review
