I was drawn in by Julie Gayet, uplifted by Dany Boon and mesmerized by Daniel Auteuil. Delightful and light-hearted.

Enjoyable French comedy. Struck a chord with me - I could relate to the socially awkward main character!

Intriguing premise is stretched too far. The antisocial lead isn't believably friendless and the sociable friend's anxieties contrived.

Corny contemporary French take on a classic Dickens tale. Auteuil's Scrooge-like character has to prove he's capable of having a best friend in this humorous easy-watching movie.

Good plot, good actors, good fun. Really made me laugh out loud at some parts. Also, you really feel for the two of them.
Critic Reviews
One looks to Leconte for some of the finest, most sophisticated and compassionate filmmaking coming out of France, not for a situation comedy.
It's better when it's threatening, but Leconte knows his audience. Full Review
A sweetly surprising treatise on friendship. Full Review
[Director] Leconte and his perfectly suited stars have given us one of those light comedies that carry a world of lovely weight. Full Review
As an alleged witty comedy of humanistic charm, it sags in both, thanks to unfunny predicaments and a phony plot. Full Review
The tone of the movie...saves it from its preposterous plot. Full Review
Some of the best French films of the past 20 years have been made by Patrice Leconte. Full Review
An unconvincing replica of the dizzy situation comedies that Hollywood poured out in double and triple bills in the thirties and forties (and went on making in the guise of TV sitcoms well into the ni... Full Review
