This movie needed more Jennifer Connelly, and it needed to be in black and white. I'm sorry, but noir never really works for me unless it's steeped in shadows and a colorless world. That's just what I've been conditioned to expect from a good noir movie. If Mulholland Falls would... read more

An interesting attempt at neo-noir but it quickly loses its grip on the audience. Shame really because the cast is really good! It really should have been better!

A good movie with a great cast but would have been better if it had more character development, There are also a few cliche moments & some unconvincing ones

Better than I expected, but still just another LAPD 50's movie. Don't know why there are so many of this genera, and don't know why I seem to have seen them all. Still, this one is by far the best. The cast is great, and hearing John Malkovich talk about atomic energy is fun-t... read more

An attempt to revisit hard-boiled noir detective movies that pre-dated LA Confidential by a year, but this is all style and no substance. All the elements are there, but it just feels like a half-hearted pastiche of ideas pilfered from other sources, and the ensemble cast of pseu... read more

It's like LA Confidential. Except not good. Even with Jennifer Connelly's boobs.

After seeing Jennifer Connelly dead in the first 5 mins I was hopeful, but alas, the movie still failed to be a neo-noir. John Malkovich actually perked up the story & he was dying from cancer lolz.

General Timms: Some people die before their time so that others can live. It's a cornerstone of civilization.
A decent L.A. cop movie set in the early sixties with a murder that is both somewhat confounding and personal. -

First movie I've watched all in closed caption. Don't know if that affects my rating or not. It was pretty good. Had you wondering what happened to the beautiful girl and what was the military trying to hide.
I liked when Nick Nolte spit all over the guy before throwing him out o... read more

An imperfect but still entertaining neo-noir mystery. Full Review

How could it miss? Let me count the ways. Full Review
An uneven mystery-thriller that suffers from a plot that wanders in too many directions and an overabundance of underdeveloped characters.
A great cast helps this wandering modern noir a whole heck of a lot.
After watching Lee Tamahori's failed, cameo-studded attempt at neo-noir, one can only wonder how it attracted such an interesting array of talent. Full Review
It didn't make any sense, but it was great!
Standard mystery, not nearly enough for Jennifer Connolly to do.
