The objective is to lord it over the miscreant drivers sent to the school (wrongly given citations and tickets by cops out to fill a quota, according to opening sequences) and make some money in the bargain. Deputy Halik has already decided to flunk out anyone in his classes, with the objective of impounding their cars and then auctioning off the vehicles to the highest bidders. Dana, the irrepressible new student, manages to unite the other put-upon drivers at the school into a single, determined faction -- and trouble quickly brews. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

How many times did I watch this as a kid? Nine bajillion? Every single time it was on cable? I'm not sure why, but I just thought it was the greatest.

It's okay. A good, cute time waster with John Murray doing the best impression of his brother that he can muster. Lots of f... read moreun familiar faces to be seen like Clara Peller (Where's the Beef?!) and Don Cheadle (!).

An enjoyable 80s comedy starring the brother of Bill Murray and the brother of Stacy Keach. You also got a young Jennifer Tilly, two dudes from The Burning, and Marty's sister from Back to the Future. Then, for toppers they throw in Fred Willard.
If your into curios and obscure (... read moreand not so obscure) comedy character actors, this is the one for you. A niche market to say the least, but still a fun watch.

As 80s as it can get...but not in a bad way. A few laugh out loud moments with a corny storyline make make Moving Violations a must see for 80s comedy fans. Keep an eye out for a young Don Cheadle as a drive through burger attendant.

A not-funny movie about driving school. A motley crew of people are thrown into driving school after receiving traffic tickets. They learn there is a conspiracy to stop them from passing, so they enact their revenge. I think Lt Dangle got his image from the main cop in this film.... read more Not the movie I thought I remembered from the 80s.

I shouldn?t have enjoyed it as much as I did, but it did make me laugh on numerous occasions. John Murray is very funny in the lead role and Jennifer Tilly is a delight as well. Clara Peller has a good bit too. Nothing deep or significant, just good fun.

I had great memories of this 1985 comedy, especially of the comic performance of John Murray.
WOW, time certainly improves things - I finally saw it once again after 20 years and this movie was really weak. John was likable, but like the rest of the cast, he didn't have much to ... read morework with. Of course this comes from the people who made the "Police Academy" series. I don't need to watch those again to recall how bad they are.

Hillarious '80's movie. I love the opening when the lady is Greasing up her Rear End! or How about the part when the guy is sleeping with the punk girl and her dad comes home and she starts switching photos on the wall and is like 12 and likes The Sound of Music!

Really, really, really lame. 15 minutes of listening to Jennifer Tilly's annoying giggle and listening to Sally Kellerman's drunken raving is enough to make anyone commit suicide.

I highly suggest to anyone and everyone to catch this movie! A gut bust'n laugh a riot comedy. A must have for the DVD collection, you'll laugh so hard you'll pee your pants and then pee again.

An underrated and very funny movie. "Moving Violations" is a classic 1985 comedy film. A group of misfits have to go to drivers ed school for all the violations they were getting., the sutiation gets crazier. There is corruption in the system. The cast is great, the late Clara Pe... read moreller, best known for her part in the "Where's the Beef" commercials is in this film, and has Sally Kellerman, Wendie Jo Sperber, and Brian Backer in the film, too.
