Okay movie for tween girls to watch. (I can't imagine it's appeal would go too much further than that). Young cast are all good here in a far fetched little story about mistaken identity. Not something I would watch again, or was anxious to see in the first place, but pleasant... read more

Three young women vacationing in Paris find themselves whisked away to Monte Carlo after one of the girls is mistaken for a British heiress.
Good movie. I enjoyed it pretty nice, although the main idea of the story was not original in a way nevertheless the story plays out well... read more -

Mash between a family movie and a chick flick wannabe makes Selena Gomez loo ugly, along with those other two chicks. The dresses they wear are hideous, somewhat like this film.
Okay, maybe I shouldn't be saying MONTE CARLO is that bad. It's just not anything good. Selena Gom... read more -

I saw this film by chance. It wasn't really geared for my demographic; so if I had been a 12 y.o. girl I would have rated this much higher.
The film ran like a Disney teen sitcom. The main character has problems at home and she's graduating high school. Looking forward to a trip... read more -

The movie took 45 minutes to actually get to the titular location...and yet, I didn't want the exposition to end! Upon seeing the movie poster, I wondered what 18-year-old Selena Gomez was doing in a buddy movie with two older actresses, but the relationship between them and eac... read more

is it dreadful? yes. is it the worst i've seen? well i wouldn't go that far. it's not the worst i've seen in 2011, but it's not even close to good. i have to be honest that the situations are actually kinda funny and sometimes selena gomez can be funny at times. but that's what i... read more

This movie is really soft, warm, and fuzzy, and has its moments, but its also silly, but Monte Carlo is more like a road trip, so go see this with a friend, it will be more enjoyble for you, its a fun road trip for everybody, for children, for adults, and for teens.

I took my niece to see this and wasn't expecting much but found a nice wholesome film which had a positive message for young girls and young people in general. Selena Gomez is a talented actress and is charming and is well supported by Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester who conti... read more

It was really good. It had tons of high points, lots of funny moments and just overall entertaining (even if it was predictable)
Critic Reviews
The scenery is pretty, the actresses work hard and it all goes by fairly quickly, if unmemorably. Full Review
Director Thomas Bezucha lingers too long on side plots and doesn't give the film emotional resonance. Full Review
After Selena Gomez's auspicious big-screen debut in Ramona and Beezus, Monte Carlo feels like two steps back for the Wizards of Waverly Place star. Full Review
The movie hits a surprising range of emotional grace notes, including several moments of genuine regret, and concludes with an understated moral lesson about the value of self-respect over social status, Full Review
Director and co-writer Thomas Bezucha shows no particular flair for either of his jobs. But kids are unlikely to focus on the terrible editing, flat visuals, or lack of character development. Full Review
Despite its soul-searching pretensions, the movie hinges on what is essentially a con -- one bereft of tension and so sanitized for young female viewers that little room is left for temptation or humo... Full Review
The movie could have benefitted from shaving about 20 minutes off. There's no need to prolong the inevitable. Full Review
For a movie called "Monte Carlo," this one keeps the stakes pretty low. Full Review
It provides young girls with some harmless wish-fulfillment without talking down to them, an increasingly rare quality in movies aimed at young people. Full Review
