When General Bakshi (Kabir Bedi) proposes a plan to release 50 harmless Pakistani POWs as a gesture of goodwill, he draws the ire of terrorist Raghavan (Sunil Shetty), a former army officer with a deep-seated hatred of the Pakistanis. Raghavan and his well-trained crew invade a television studio where the general is being interviewed, despite the efforts of Ram's father, Shekhar (Naseeruddin Shah of Monsoon Wedding), who is Bakshi's head of security. Ram intercedes and nearly captures the masked terrorist, but Shekhar is killed trying to protect Bakshi. With his dying words, he tells Ram his shameful secret. Shekhar was never married to Ram's late mother. Shekhar's wife and son left him when Ram, his illegitimate son, came to live in their home. Shekhar's dying wish is to have their forgiveness. Ram gets an opportunity to look for his long-lost stepbrother when General Bakshi assigns him to guard his estranged daughter, Sanjana (Amrita Rao), who goes to the same college as Ram's stepbrother. In order to stay close to Sanjana, Ram has to pose as a student. Being much older and far more conservative than most of the students, Ram immediately stands out, and is mercilessly mocked by the coolest guy on campus, Lucky (Zayed Khan). Sanjana wants nothing to do with him, making his job difficult.     Major Raghavan Data je biv?i oficir indijske vojske koji je izbačen nakon ubistva 11 pakistanskih civila koji su pre?li na indijsku stranu u potrazi za vodom. On poku?ava da uni?ti projekt Milaap (Jedinstvo), prvi korak koji su Indija i Pakistan učinili za pribli?avanje dveju strana.

    Poku?ati i samo ovla? prepričati ovaj film bi trebalo 10-tak strana, pa to neću činiti. Samo ću spomenuti da je otac Rama, general i vođa projekta Shekhar Sharma (Naseeruddin Shah) , ubijen, a Ram odlazi u koled? da spreči ubistvo ćerke brigadira Amir Singh Bakshi (Kabir Bedi - jel se neko jo? uvek njega seća?), prelepe i veoma talentovane Sanjane (Amrita Rao). U istom mestu nalazi i prvu ?enu svog oca Madhu (Kiron Kher) i polu-brata Lakshmana (Zayed Khan) .

    Tipičan Bolivudski film sa borilačkim ve?tinama, pevanjem, igranjem, ljubavnom pričom, trilerom, akcijom... ne znam kako, ali ovi filmovi vas tako uvuku u priču da sam morao ostati do 2 ujutru da ga dogledam do kraja... i vredelo je...

He is left with a duty that he must fulfill and to honor his father's last wishes. He must pose as... read more a student, and protect a general's daughter as well as unite his estranged family. Great cast- Shahrukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Amrita Rao, Zayed Khan, and Suniel Shetty. Worth seeing!

    When a movie is described (fairly accurately, as it turns out) as a cross between True Lies, Grease, Never Been Kissed, Toy Soldiers- with a little bit of Matrix-style action and the requisite Bollywood singing and dancing- how could it not be terrible beyond belief? Main Hoon N... read morea (which apparently translates as "I am here now"), while it does live up to the description, is not what I expected.

    The film bounces around from action to romance to drama, all interspersed with entertaining music and dance numbers. The movie is almost always light-hearted and fun (and I found some of the funny bits hilarious, to be honest), although the main plotline deals with the serious issues of disputes between India and Pakistan and terrorism.

    There are two things that really surprised me about the Main Hoon Na:

    1. It careens along its three-hour course with hardly a dull moment. For what is essentially a fun popcorn romp of a movie, it's amazing that it manages to run this long and still be enjoyably engaging for pretty much the entire time.
    2. I still have no idea how the writer/director managed to combine such a bizarre mix of things so successfully. There's no way this movie should work, never mind work well, but it does.

    So I say see it for yourself. It's not ever going to be an Oscar contender but it is a very entertaining and fun movie, which is exactly what it sets out to be. If you're not put off by some some singing and dancing, Main Hoon Na will be both familiar and refreshingly different for most westerners.

    I absolutely love this movie. It's so corny and silly (as most Bollywood movies are) but I still love watching it.
