Simone Bradley (Diane Gaidry) is a teacher who finds peace within the walls of Saint Theresa's school, and purpose in bringing the wonders of poetry to her young female students. Though newly arrived student Annabelle (Erin Kelly) has notable intelligence and charisma to spare, her fiery disobedience finds the stern headmistress imploring Simone to reign in the young rebel. But Annabelle's insubordination is about to become the least of Simone's concerns, because when the advances of the passionate young woman reveal her teacher's innermost desires, the devoted teacher will be forced to choose between her career and an affair that could quite possibly destroy her livelihood. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

If you like movies that feature relationships, Loving Annabelle fits the bill. Of course the problem is that no matter how much anyone is in love, it is just not possible to act on your feelings if you are the teacher, and the object of your affections is your student. Many of ... read morethe other reviews complain about the 'abrupt' ending, but it suits the movie.

This is the story of a young lady who was sent to a private catholic school by her mother, who's a Senator. There she feels out of place, but finds comfort with her teacher, Simone. Their intensity grows throughout the school year to where one night everything changes.

It was ... read morea decent love story to watch, but didn't bring much for me. I also didn't really like the ending....it ended so abruptly.

Not that good. Can't understand how this is rating quite highly on here. The acting and story is like a bad porn film, and the topic is a bit icky. I have no problem at all watching a movie aimed at, or featuring gay people, but it's a bit off when one is a teen girl and one's ... read morean older teacher. Yes, the teacher is reasonably sympathetic, and watching the making-of doco clarified what the director was trying to acheive, but it just does not work. Erin Kelly is just hard faced and comes across like a little trouble maker, do not buy her as being genuine in her feelings at all, even though she is clearly meant to be, and ditto to the other class mates, not even remotely convincing. Diane Gaidry comes out of it with a bit of dignity, but it's not saying much.
There are much better movies out there if you're a fan of this genre, :"But I'm a cheerleader", "All over me", to name just a few...

This is a pretty good film and is definitely worth your time. The romance between teacher and student unfolds in generous broad strokes of passion until the quite heartbreaking end.

I really liked it. The chemistry between the two main characters is just fantastic. Some parts were kind of corny and the ending is semi-abrupt, but I liked that it ended the way it began. Kind of ironic really.

Acted and directed in a surprisingly subtle fashion, the whole student-teacher-story is given an original, appealing new twist. The actresses have amazing chemistry - this film was a huge hit at festivals for a good reason.

A moralistic, unlikely ending spoils this otherwise touching story, which features a non-pornographic lezzie love scene so hot that I my allegedly "straight" girlfriends admitted being turned-on.

Loving Annabelle is th... read moree third remake of Mädchen in Uniformwas (1933), and as is my understanding, each remake misses the point of the original a little bit more. Loving Annabelle is a tad sappy and maudlin, and the ending would be unlikely in real life. There is no way Annabelle and Simone would be stupid enough to allow themselves to be caught, and given how the Church so adamantly protects its priests there is simply no way that Mother Immaculata would turn Simone in to the authorities.

    Ridiculous.

The ending is unnecessarily melodramatic and follows a pattern in US mass produced culture whereby characters who break taboos must be punished to prove the filmmakers don't advocate their behavior, even though the entire vehicle up to that point is usually a strong justification for breaking the taboo.

Terrible screenplay, phoney dialogue beng forced into the mouths of flat, disbelievable characters. That's an offense to the actors too. As cute as Erin Kelly is, she seriously needs acting classes.
