The film is about 40% performace material, and 60% off stage footage. it is not focused on the history of the band but shows them going on a reunion tour many years later after they split because of personal issues and tension within the band.

For fans of the band Pixies, only. I don't think this movie will convert anybody who's never heard of them.

Pixies fans will get a kick out of the band's (lack of) chemistry and motivation. Most others should stay away. Not really enough turns to sustain a feature documentary.

As a Pixie's fan it is an exciting film to watch, but from a documentary standpoint the film is lacking in both footage and composition.

About the Pixies 2004 reunion tour. Good, but not enough history and dirt!! I think there is another film that covers that stuff. I'll look into it!

Shirtless Frank Black doing positive affirmations. Kim Deal reading the book about herself. And one of my favorite closing-credit sequences of all time.

The 85-minute documentary takes a torpid, fly-on-the-wall approach, providing little context, few insights, and not enough music. Full Review
Watching the movie is not as much fun as listening to the old records. Full Review
Boring people who made extraordinary music, the Pixies are inexplicable. In attempting to demystify them, this backstage pass to their 2004 reunion tour achieves the opposite. Full Review
This is a nice Cinderella story, but here's the problem: It doesn't exactly crackle with drama. Full Review
The entire affair looks and feels like a reality television show minus the cheap drama. Full Review
Pic is targeted at the already initiated, but directors Steve Cantor and Matthew Galkin deftly resolve one often glaring problem with tribute documentaries -- making those who might not care do so. Full Review
By night, the Pixies are rock n' roll superheroes...by day, they're just four surly co-workers with very little to say to one another. Full Review
The Pixies, reunited after 12 years and still in top form. Full Review
And if you're a fan of the Pixies' music, that's not such a bad way to spend 90 minutes Full Review
