This unholy spawn of The Exorcist out of Rosemary's Baby is dreary going indeed, even when it becomes unintentionally hilarious.

End of the world flick about tracking down the anti christ. Interesting ending but a weak movie.

A pretty interesting film. Not the greatest flick out there, but still a little entertaining with a few scares.

More grounded than most possession/end-of-the-world movies. Put another way, more 'Rosemary's Baby' than 'The Exorcist' which is the smarter, more interesting path. Intriguing enough to pull me along and well acted by the leads, smoky-eyed Winona Ryder and earnest Ben Chaplin. ... read more

Interesting half-way through, and then you know exactly how it's going to end. Can't decide if I like it or hate it.
Critic Reviews
With the original Exorcist back at the multiplex, you don't need this pale copy.
Odd camera angles, artfully dim lighting and showy tracking shots simply don't make up for suspense or intelligence. Full Review
Despite its spooky, color-desaturated visuals, guffaws, not screams, are more in order.
While it's beautifully shot, it's way too slow. And it isn't one bit scary. Full Review
Feels like a film student's awkward homage to Polanski's Rosemary's Baby. Full Review
Its characters are so colorless and uninvolving that it's hard to take them seriously. Full Review
Far from being frightening or brutal or harrowing, as an exorcism thriller ought to be, it's silly, undone by lack of faith in its own subject. Full Review
