In a future where time travel has been invented and outlawed, it is used solely by a criminal organisation who use it to "disappear" undesirables into the past where they are disposed of by hired killers called "loopers". I was very much looking forward to Rian Johnson's foray in... read more

It is rare that I go into a movie with high hopes and walk out with my expectations exceeded. This movie is action-packed, smart, and intense. The plot is incredibly intriguing, providing the most interesting take on gangsters I have ever seen. The film is dark and bold, and leav... read more

Looper wasn't as action heavy as expected, instead the vision of the future and the idea of time travel was intelligently handled and the great performances and clever writing were the big thrill. A satisfying and refreshing change. As well as the performances and story, the dire... read more

I really liked the special effects sequences and how they moulded together with the story. The movie has enough going for it, but might be a bit complicated for some audiences.

This is a good time travel thriller. It didn't have as much action as I was expecting, but the story is good and the special effects are done well and not over used for the sake of it. A well made enjoyable film that for once deserved some of the hype.

Looper is a clever and thoughtful techno-noir that has some plotholes but it makes up for them with a well executed ending.

Argh. Much as I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this is not his best move. The idea has some potential, but . . . . Well, to each his/her own. Can't recommend this. Really takes the fun out of time travel. And, as you may know from my previous comments, I'm partial to time trave... read more

That first hour cooks. And the second hour brings Emily Blunt into the story, which is a fine thing for any second half to offer. Full Review
If the whole thing leaves you rubbing your temples, just a bit... well, this headache's sort of worth it. Full Review
The reasoning behind all this may not reward prolonged inspection, but Johnson is smart enough to press onward with his plot, leaving us with neither the time nor the desire to linger over the logic ... Full Review
Writer-director Rian Johnson establishes himself as an original talent who clearly believes storytelling must prevail. Full Review
A mind-bending ride that is not afraid to slow down now and again, to explore themes of regret and redemption, solitude and sacrifice, love and loss. It's a movie worth seeing and, perhaps, going back... Full Review
Looper has more heart than Brick and the 2008 con-man flick The Brothers Bloom. Both fine achievements, they could also be described as viscerally cerebral. Full Review
I'm a sucker for time-travel movies. Full Review
