    The original is way better.

30 years on and we have a remake of the little known, but very weird film Long Weekend (1978). I saw the original when I was very young and at the end you just think WTF?! This is almost by the numbers remake, so I knew what was gong to happen, which effected my overall opinion.... read more I remember the first being a lot more tense, scary and jumpy. This just didn't have the same impact. Check out the 78 version of you want some real creepy thrills!

This movie is camping 101 and spending time with a person you really can't stand. That's what I don't understand why does someone stay with someone who is no longer fun and just doesn't have the same interest. The film is about a couple who travel in to the Australian wilderness ... read moreto camp, a couple who has never camped before and is used to the good life, ahh now their a good idea, not getting along all weekend plus some minor animal attacks lead to insanity. 1 Star on this one, reminds me to much on many times in my past life,

Never saw the original so i went in to this with being judgemental. Its a slow moving story and the two leads have a tough job to carry the whole movie but they do and both are interesting to watch. Not much in the way of gore but you do get a bucket load at the very end and is wor... read moreth the wait. Not the best movie in the world but is worth a check.

Two people, who should never have attempted a camping trip, end up in a man vs. nature scenerio. Man violates nature, and nature fights back. The good thing about this movie, lies in its subtlety as far as nature getting its revenge upon people who abuse it. You never really s... read moreee, other than a few birds attacking, the animals actually doing anything, but you know. The only downside of that, is that it leaves you with unanswered questions. The movie was made with just a couple and their dog. The couple was so unlikeable and boorish, that you didn't really care what happens to them. The only one I was rooting for was the dog.

not a very good horror movie, but i have to say its original, with the dead moving manatee along the beach stalking them... thinking back though its hilarious that she actually decided to abandon him and lie and say she buried the dog.... and drove off in the car..
lol just becau... read morese the manatee moved about 10ft from where it was on the beach previously...
they were arguing most of the time which made the movie even lamer,,,i wanted horror, not people swearing at each other thats what the jerry springer show is for....
1 star for the moving scary dead manatee though, that was actually pretty funny

This was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. How this can be a "Horror" movie is beyond me, was hoping for more from the movie, a lot more. It left stuff out movie to tell the story line. Like why they were thier. Why the other people died. Why the nature was doing things to ... read morethem. Why He's friend didn't show up. Stuff like that.

Generally tense, very well acted and it has a great pace. I never lost interest. The Australia setting is breathtaking, good cinematography.

Big disappointment. More than three quarters of the movie were just character development, with nothing interesting happening. When the action finally took place it was way too rushed, except for one violent part at the very end.

I had no sympathy for the charcters. They are, at their core, wretched people who deserve to have their relationship fall apart. Full Review
