Hilarious... at times. The plot wasn't really that well thought out and you don't believe 'however unrealistic it would of been anyway' that that the vicar would get away with doing all of that stuff. I know it's supposed to be funny, but for me it was just ok. John Krasowski is... read more

What could have and should have been a charming little romantic comedy is almost completely ruined by the creepy and reprehensible character played by Robin Williams. It's a shame since Mandy Moore and John Krasinski have nice chemistry to their scenes and play well off each othe... read more

Good Lord, where do I start? This is unoriginal, stupid, predicatble, annoying, tedious, and not very much fun. I admittedly laughed at least twice, but this movie is mostly an aggravating bore. What saves it from getting a worse grade is that I liked how four cast members from T... read more

Robin Williams plays an eccentric minister who has an extreme pre-marriage course that people he is to wed, must take. The happy couple are not so happy as they have to deal with the challenges set by the course. Good plot and quite funny. Robin makes the movie.

Well, I didn't expect this movie was this fun... Robin Williams was the perfect actor to play Reverend Frank because he is so funny, and he is experienced... While the young couple played by John Krasinski and Mandy Moore were looks like a lovely couple... The story actually were... read more

I really didn't "get" this movie at all. What was the whole deal with Robin Williams' (annoying) character. Was he hitting on her, or just crazy, or what?! As well as that awful character, there is also a small boy in it who is the most irritating, horrible child I have seen ... read more

Robin Williams, Mandy Moore, and John Krasinski are funny in this movie that tests an engaged couple....can they make it through marriage classes with the priest or kill one another?
Critic Reviews
This assaultively unappealing 'romantic comedy' could well mark the opening salvo in a whole new Hollywood campaign against movie piracy. Anybody who'd steal this dud would stink just from carrying it... Full Review
Forget about Saw, Hostel and all the other films in the new, notorious torture-porn genre. If you're looking for a really sick movie, check out License to Wed. Full Review
The inert License to Wed shambles along one lame scene after another. Full Review
...even if I could have put up with the unpleasantness of this as comedy, I still would have balked at the eventual portrayal of this monster [Williams] as an angel in disguise. Full Review
I have rarely seen a movie with less self-knowledge than License to Wed, an awful comedy made ever so slightly fascinating because of its dual personality. Full Review
There's bad, there's awful and there's horrible, and then somewhere beyond that, in its own Kingdom of Lousy -- where all the milk curdles and the jokes aren't funny -- is License to Wed. Full Review
It's highly amusing and its cast is extremely persuasive, playing the kind of roles that kill most careers: genuinely nice people. Full Review
The movie is plodding, predictable, formulaic and, worst of all, not funny. Full Review
