I haven't ever read any of the Left Behind books, but I've heard a lot about them. I got to watch the movie, and it's not the best religious-type movie I've ever seen, but it's not bad. Kirk Cameron stars as one of the people who have been 'left behind' after the revelation. A lo... read more

Ugh. Just ugh. Every single bad religious movie cliche is present in Left Behind: The cheap sets and effects, the wooden, uncomfortable acting, the strange lighting that makes it look like a made for TV movie, and yes even the self-important, smirking nimrod that is Kirk Cameron.... read more

I am very interested in the Apocalypse, and the entire book of Revelation itself. These movies and books interest me very much. With some of these comments, yes the Effects are a little cheesey at times, but that is not the point. The point is the moral/plot, which is the reason ... read more

It was ok. It was very action-packed during when everyone was dissappearing and very freaky during the end when the "antichrist" takes over. But it just doesn't hold attention long enough.

I'm not religious, but I did read about 6 books of the series and enjoyed them though they were certainly pushing their faith onto the readers. I probably would have stopped reading, but the Anti-Christ was actually a very interesting character in the way that they portrayed them... read more

Not as good as the book. Watched before read, and I couldn't get Kirk Cameron's face off of bucks body, even if he was supposed to be blonde.

Critic Reviews
Might be extremely effective while preaching to the converted, but it's no great shakes as secular entertainment. Full Review
An exceedingly poorly made motion picture. Full Review
Nearly unendurable.
One of the better efforts, up there with Don Murray's The Cross and the Switchblade. Full Review
A competently made film hampered by wooden performances and a script that has a few too many 'Gee whiz' moments of dialogue.
For all its intimations of fire and brimstone, the film isn't remotely frightening, and the high-school-level acting doesn't help. Full Review
A classic case of preaching to the converted, this relentlessly boring movie is unlikely to appeal to anyone except hard-core fans of Christian sci-fi.
It may have seemed plausible on paper, but Left Behind, the conspiracy-laden, Christian-themed thriller that has sold five million copies in book form, just looks ludicrous on screen.
As a film, it's a sorry mess of addled plotting that serves up byzantine paranoia about conspiracies lurking around the United Nations.
