Good rom-com with Amy Adams and Matthew Goode that brings some laughs for there are pratfalls and other silliness.
Adams really has wonderful physical comedic skills but still allows her charm to come across and make me smile. While the movie gets a little clumsy, nothing is bad... read more -

Romance comedies have been bad for years, the record stands even stronger with this. Amy Adams needs to stick with movies like The Fighter, and he just needs to get in more movies PERIOD! A boring and predictable movie but I did respect the beautiful settings in Ireland, but th... read more

Is it awful of me that I actually kind of like this movie, despite the fact that Amy Adams herself dismissed as complete and utter crap? I don't know, Matthew Goode is just so cute in it, and Amy is reliably adorable - it just works.

Amy Adams is one of the few actresses that I would watch in absolutely anything. She could be starring in a movie about cold sores, and I'd still check it out. How could you not love her? She's gorgeous, a great actress, and she makes even a middle-of-the-road romantic comedy lik... read more

This is exactly what you think it is. Cute enough story that anyone with half a brain could work out the plot to and exactly what is going to happen before you even take the disc out of the case.
Amy Adams is always likeable. I think if some other actress had done this role the... read more -

On the quest for love everything that can go wrong, will. This movie had a lot of that going on. I thought it was romantic and sweet. Made me want to visit Ireland. If you liked The Matchmaker, you'll enjoy this.

It?s not funny. It has more clichés than imaginable. The very premise that a woman has to travel all the way to Ireland to be ?allowed? to propose to her long-time boyfriend is bizarre and borderline offensive. And yet, the unmistakably lowball chick flick is watchable thanks to ... read more

Leap Year may be the least funny Hollywood comedy to take advantage of Irish tax credits since The Honeymooners. Full Review
The most charming of actors can be left flailing in the face of a feeble script and direction. Full Review
What makes Leap Year so singularly dispiriting is precisely that it is bad without distinction â" so witless, charmless and unimaginative that it can be described as a movie only in a strictly technic...
If the premise seems lame, the actual script by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont is far worse, leaning on so many clichéd situations it's a wonder 45 other screenwriters weren't credited. Full Review
There's not one surprising moment in the script, but Adams and Goode allow you to look past the familiar and develop a rooting interest in them as a couple. Full Review
As modern rom-coms go, this is trite but relatively painless. Full Review
Recycled plot, lame sight gags, Leprechaun-like stock Irish characters. The charms of Amy Adams rescue 'Leap Year' from Truly Awful status. Full Review
Is this 2010, or 1950? It certainly seems the latter, since no contemporary woman with an IQ above Guinness temperature would sit with such nonsense. Full Review
What saves it from being completely dismissible drivel are the gorgeous Irish locations and the charm of its stars, Amy Adams and Matthew Goode. Full Review
